I'm going next Tuesday and Wednesday I think I'll get a fast track for smiler for me and my friend and start and finish in forbidden valley to try and get the most out of it

Remember that The Smiler has a single rider line. Often with a very short wait.
Ye it's worth splitting your group and going in the SRQ, rather than spending a tenner each. Also, even if you want to ride as a group then with it only on 60 mins I would personally just wait

Well I'm going with a group and only one of them who's a smiler fan who will ride it with me but he's only there for day 1 so on day 2 I'll take advantage of the single rider queue, that way we can ride it together and not be split up from our group for more than 10 minutes.

Yeah, now I’m tempted to start and finish in FV as I love nemesis more than smiler anyway. I don’t mind only riding smiler once but I would love to ride nemesis multiple times.
I always used to start in forbidden valley however as hotel guests now enter via that entrance it has put me off. Nemesis doesn't get a queue longer than like 30 minutes on a weekday, almost certainly less than that with it currently sitting at 5 minutes. Galactica is currently at 50 minutes meaning it is probably on one station but waiting 50 minutes for one ride while the rest of the park is lower is really not that bad. The smiler is sitting at 40 minutes and has done for most the day so it probably doesn't matter whether you start in forbidden valley or X-sector.

Oblivion is advertised as 45 minutes meaning its probably about 15-20 minutes so don't ever be put off with that.

The 2nd, 3rd week of September (midweek) have always typically been very good times to visit for me over the years. I usually get on 20 rides plus before 3pm.

Even the weekends in September aren't usually too bad as there's something about the start of the new school year that means families don't visit theme parks at the weekend in great numbers. That will change once Scarefest starts though obviously.

Nothing beats joining a 2 hour queue for the smiler or wicker man to get the latest ride possible!

I'm so excited now. Going on the 17th which is the first Friday of Oktoberfest and it is open until 7pm. Hopefully it stays this quiet and we can do multiple rides on our favourites!

I think Oktoberfest has changed things slightly with the additional entertainment and longer hours making those weekends slightly more appealing, but yes Scarefest will always get even busier.

It won't be this quiet on the 17th, but I don't think it'll be much busier. Also, I would expect Oktoberfest days to be this quiet, but the ones that are 10-5. Fridays last year on Oktoberfest were 10-8 and were actually pretty quiet that it didn't look like the 8pm close was warranted if i recall correctly, so you should be fine.

Day 3 of the Smiler's opening season I rocked up to X Sector at about 11am and the queue was 3hrs. Walked down to the single rider entrance and to my amazement it didn't look too busy so decided to give it a go. I got on the ride twice within 35 mins. Absolute result.

Sat next to a Dad and his teenage daughter on the first ride who had queued all morning when I told them I had waited 15 mins he didn't seem too happy with me. Hahahahaha
