Unpopular Opinions: Theme Park Edition

Probably more of a controversial opinion rather than unpopular, but Dreamflight at Efteling should be counted as a coaster. It is essentially a powered suspended coaster, and if something like Casey Jr at Disneyland Paris is a coaster then I see no reason why Dreamflight isn't.

Ok if you say so, sounds like a bit of a stretch. But gives me another coaster cred which I can't turn down 😄

I wouldn't say any powered coasters are as they don't.... well they don't coast. But yeah, I see your point. If Casey JR is classed as one, I'm not sure why Dream Flight isn't. I mean, that's practically a Helix in that scene towards the end isn't it?

Anyway, thanks to you, I now can't get the Dream Flight music out of my head. Thanks a bunch!

I really didn’t rate Zadra that highly.

Context: I mean, it is a great ride and all, and the stall is genuinely fantastic, but after a multitude of goes I just didn’t “love” it for some reason. I mean, it could’ve been just due to the cold weather and the fact they were swapping the trains around throughout the day I assume for wear distribution purposes so it didn’t get time to warm up fully (it was on 1 train ops). Maybe I just need to wait for a future visit when it’s going at full pelt after a good run in but I just can’t help feeling a little disappointed with the rides I did have.

Hyperion on the other hand was ridiculous on a back middle seat. Jumped straight to my top spot.

Sadly with Hyperion the back outside left seat it is a pogo stick.

Silver Star is a ride that gets love on here whilst I find it a bit boring

I wanted to love Iron Gwazi so much and was looking forward to my first RMC, but only ended up riding it once and really not enjoying it.

I came off the ride feeling like my legs had been through a mangle and came out in some cracking bruises over the following hours. An amazing coaster ruined by some of the worst train design I’ve ever encountered.

I don't understand "merch." This might be more of a Disney thing, but it boggles my mind when I see queues for new "limited edition" clothes or popcorn buckets that are longer than most of the rides. I have no problem with buying a mug or sweater or something to remember your trip by, but it's strange to me how something so experiential as visiting a theme park can be turned into a reason to buy a bunch of cheap junk

Meanwhile I’m reading this post in my EPCOT 40th Anniversary Spirit Jersey, while looking at how I can mount my “day of” pin badges and maps. These are sentimental items and when we left the shop we found the queue behind us had reached 6 hours (we “rope dropped” and we’re in and out within 30 minutes)

Queues for just random items I don’t quite understand

One word: dopamine

Speaking of awful trains, Furius Brainache at PA may have awful but Stampida needs more abuse. I was told its a bit rough, not teeth rattlingly ****** awful.

Probably unpopular: Shambhala isn't the best coaster in Spain

Not when there's THE GIB!

I found I was able to brace against the bouncing on Stampida (essentially using my legs as springs), whilst the riding position of Baco means there's not much you can do about the vibration.

Yes The GIB is better, but so is the Batman clone in the same park

Stampida Red there was no way to brace last weekend, just violence, and with the trains being KumbaK, all of it seems sharp, hard or designed to hurt.

Olympia Looping bored me to death and is rougher than anything I have been on except Turbo at Brighton.
