Fireworks 2023 🎆

Would anyone be able to advise ( I know this was the case for 2022 ) if Fridays do tend to be the quietest of the 3days for fireworks?
Friday was very quiet last year and it also helps the park was running everything on full capacity I think probably getting the staff warmed up for the Saturday which is always busy.

Did anyone hear what happened with this? Not seen anthing on social media about it if anyone spotted anything on these dates.
No one seems to have caught anything. The window is so large that it’s unlikely someone was camping out to catch it anyway. A NOTAM is not even a guarantee that they even did anything or if it would be visible to people off the park too.

I’m glad to be honest, nice to have a surprise or a hold off for spoilers nearer the time!

Thank you. Yet we are now aware it's half term that week so we probably won't end up going as will be too busy.
It will be busy but don't forget they cap the numbers for the 3 days. I did the Saturday last year and I honestly thought it wasn't a lot busier than Scarefest's 2nd weekend.

That's true yet the Halloween half term is later this year than last which we hadn't realised until earlier. We would only go the Friday if at all yet now with the schools off we may not.

Very random question I know but as I was watching back last years display, I heard a version of Bowies Starman that I hadn’t heard before! Does anyone know what cover version this is or whether it was solely commissioned for the park?

Wouldn't it be great if for fireworks this year they aimed the story more at what's going on with nemesis/phalanx. I remember the first fireworks I went to in the 90's and it was much more of a story line, pretty sure it was about aliens attacking alton towers, they had fire coming out of the towers and all sorts....mind blown, I still love the fireworks now but I just feel like they've done the celebration of rides to music for years now.

Whether we like it as enthusiasts or not, we'll almost certainly see more of the same thing this year. A mix of a narrative mixed with popular songs is what appears to get the best crowd reaction/feedback, so I don't see that formula changing. For me personally mind, I actually like the mix that they have these days. It's a good balance to have a little something for both the occasional visitors and the regulars.

I do however see it as an almost dead cert to have some sort of Phalanx section featuring. They featured at the end of last year's Sunday show (no company wants to put the closure of one of their headline rides front and centre on the biggest shows of the season). I see that changing this year, with them featuring during the main show much more.

I would expect the Friday to be alot busier this year as Staffordshire & Derbyshire school half term is a week later this year and is from mon 30th Oct- Friday 3rd Nov. As part of the main catchment I would think there will certainly be a big increase over previous firework events on Fridays. Also I noticed the 1st and 2nd nov are 4pm close, with Staffordshire and Derbyshire schools off hopefully they will increase those hrs.

Yes we are unlikely to be going now for what would have been our first fireworks at towers.

The schools are also off in 2024 too around the time the fireworks will be

Are you not going to go because the kids are off? Don't forget the park does cap number of tickets sold each day to well below their maximum capacity for safety reasons. I've done the Saturday and Sunday at Fireworks, and I really wouldn't say they are any busier than a Scarefest weekend. Don't let potential crowds put you off seeing one of the best displays in the country!

A couple of questions on the fireworks.

Do rides stay open while they are on and are they done at the end of the night or is there time to ride after they finish.

Also where is the best place to stand

So rides near the fireworks close during the display and reopen once inspected for shrapnel (Usually X Sector, Dark Forest, David Walliams, Spinball and Octonauts). Mutiny Bay, Forbidden Valley, RMT, Alton Manor and most of Cbeebies Land stay open throughout. There will be time to ride everything except Battle Galleons, Congo River Rapids and Get Set Go which close at dusk.
