Trip Planning 2023/24: Information, advice and questions!

22000 people in the queue at the moment. This must be a fault, surely? I've never seen this happen before

It depends what they count as 'people'. It is normal for virtual queue counts to actually be counting brower sessions, rather then the number of people specifically. I.e. if you currently have the site open on a laptop and a mobile you appear in the queue twice.

The numbers can all be quite erratic in these circumstances as someone could appear in the queue 100 times and then vanish altogether. And that's before you start thinking about potential bots.

So I got in, 13 hrs that took 😂
Once in, it's about 5 mins for the search engine to return room results and okay after that..I think that's having a knock on effect on why the queue is taking ages. Looking forward to doing that again in October 24 💀

I've just done a small experiment.

In 22 minutes I moved up the queue by 246 places. I then joined the queue again using a different browser, and found this session was now 235 places even further back than when I had previously joined (481 places behind my other session). This suggests that people joining the queue is outpacing people exiting the queue by approximately 2:1

My current ETA to reach the front of the queue is 15:10 tomorrow afternoon, in 17 hours time. Throughput is approximately 670pph.

I have got in, booked March\April and May Half Term. Once your in, you have an hour before the session kicks you out, and you need to rejoin. There was no visible timer as far as I could see.

Plenty of availability, but the cheapest rooms seem to be selling very quickly.

Price for 4 adults for 5 nights shown above, if your looking to share works out at roughly £80 per person per night, so not to bad.

frustratingly I had to go to bed for work still being number 8004 at midnight. Just woke up and ie missed my slot! Now I’m back at 14k again… this is crazy 🤣

I got kicked out of the queue at about 11pm which was REALLY FUN. I had to go out for an immediate 45 minute walk to avoid imploding. Fate is telling me to go elsewhere.

"From our personal test reservations, we can confirm that you can be in the queue for hours and the number always decreases without the system cancelling or throwing you out of the queue.

However, we cannot rule out the possibility that this is affected by personal settings, such as the automatic deletion of cookies."

Ah yes, the age old method of 'tis your fault mate'. Not even an apology, just "join the queue again". No thanks, I'll book elsewhere.

Ahhh, German customer service, gotta love it! 🤣

I recently was informed by another companies German CS that they'd "Perform much better troubleshooting when the operator (they) are in contact with knows how systems work"

German is very blunt on top of them being like that at times and it can come across as a bit much. Don't take it personally @cloudburster

Oh I didn't take it personally, it just put me off wanting to give them my money more than anything else! I was hoping to book a week for 6 of us next Christmas. I would understand if I closed the window and reopened it, or randomly after a full day of waiting decided I must in that moment clear my cookies etc...but I literally just got kicked out. Ah well! 🤣
