Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

I have been to florida, when I went the rides were down for 3+ hours on some days due to thunderstorms and closed quite often due to thunderstorms in the area, they do have other indoor offering but not many either, I would love to see more indor attractions hopefully project horizon will bring some indoor attractions.
It's not thunderstorms though, it's a bit of wind and the whole park has gone into meltdown. Furthermore they have no filler attractions to cover for it so people are rightly going to complain.

It doesn't help that the last brand-new indoor ride they added (Gangsta Granny) is

1) dreadful
2) low throughput
3) very unreliable in bad weather (as the building isn't weatherproof)

Then you have Curse (unreliable), NST (running on reduced capacity), Hex (always closed) and Dungeons (upcharge and virtually forgotten)

I did notice the drips last Saturday. Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d call it dreadful. Maybe my expectations were lower, itā€™s certainly better than Dungeons.

Stick a roof on the old talbot gallery and use it as a preshow for a ā€œAlgenons flying machineā€ flying theatre next to the Hex Building.

Stick a Ninjago ride on the car park behind Mutiny Bay arcade.

POTC type ride on the coach park behind Pizza/Pasta.

Retheme Dungeons.

Put a Huss Breakdance in FV in the Edge building and a Huss Magic indoors in X-Sector.

Reopen the 4D cinema.

Open Project Horizon (all being well a decent capacity indoor coaster)

Job done.

Thereā€™s hopefully saving there repurposing things from other parks and off the shelf hardware to be spruced up. Most of them you could do two in a year. For opening day and May/June and would completely change the capabilities of the park.

Where you putting the parking infrastructure you're removing?

Don't know how big Ninjago is, but no chance of them doing a POTC style ride.

Maybe put in a funky dark ride in CBeebies area somewhere. Though the issue there being it would need to either be something timeless or easily altered just in case. Plus something that can have no real minimum height limit, apparently both Symbolica & Carnaval Festival are capable of this.

Also could do with another decent water ride. But that's another issue entirely.

How often was Duel down with it's 30+ year old ride system?
It could be temperamental, I remember visiting one day with my dad in 2018 and it was up and down like a yo-yo all day. I don't remember it being especially reliable in its final year as Duel either, although that might have been because they knew it was closing and stopped bothering to try to fix things.

Just seems whatever they've done they've made it much worse?

Thirteen amazes me how unreliable it is. It's a good coaster but is so temperamental. It's not even that old.
New trim was added wasnā€™t it?

Probably that, more complicated things bolted on. I wouldnā€™t say itā€™s a good coaster as the coaster element of the ride is lame. The drop track is excellent however.

Mean it famously had issues on the opening day.

Unfortunately with modern day systems there's far more things that can go wrong. See that in every industry.

Tree Top Adventure was hilariously old school. And that had some issues yesterday.

Iā€™m currently in the queue for Wicker Man, and itā€™s moving bizarrely slowly.

For reference, I joined an advertised 70 minute queue at 4:30pm. Itā€™s now been 70 minutes, and Iā€™ve only just exited the portion of the queue inside the turnaround near the wicker man structure.

Iā€™m unsure why itā€™s going so slowly. Based on my throughput reading (around 830pph), Iā€™d take a stab at it only being on 2 trains, and the RAP queue does look pretty considerable, but this must be the slowest Wicker Man queue Iā€™ve ever stood in by quite some margin. It feels like weā€™re crawling along, and I reckon we could easily have the best part of a hour left to queue.

Does anyone have any theories on why it could be so slow?

I think you have answered your own question.

2 trains and RAP.

Could just be queue times being inaccurate too. I watched a live stream earlier and someone joined the 90 min queue for nemesis but it looked more like 25. So it seems some are being vastly overstated and some the opposite

Stated queue times donā€™t impact how slowly a queue moves?

Regardless of what was stated, this is moving slowly; Iā€™ve been in for almost 90 minutes now, and this is my current vantage point, to give some idea of where in the queue I am:

Granted, it did briefly stop for inclement weather for around 5-10 minutes, but this is still the slowest Iā€™ve ever known Wicker Manā€™s queue move by quite some margin. Itā€™s normally quite a quick queue.

I haven't had the offer come through.
Yeah, they've been watching your messages on this site and have triangulated it with your last known location and cellphone details and then your identity. After careful consideration (and watching a cheesy 90s cop film) they decided not to offer you compensation. The letter is in the post to Pen 18, Farmyard 12, Talbot Farm, Alton, Staffordshire, S69 BJS.
