After looking through my socials just, noticed people were saying this didn't open at all today. Just continuing the theme of terrible availability.

Seems that Wicker Man is down at the moment because the Fire Alarm system is faulty and they can’t get insurance due to it being out of action, according to this vlogger…
Really not a good season for Wicker this year, is it?

Yeah the alarm has been going off every so often for a few days now. Obviously buildings cannot open the public without a working fire alarm system, and that includes coaster stations.
Edit: it's open so they must have fixed it or found a workaround.

I wonder if Dean's still got his annual pass for life? I remember that season many years ago when they had that competition to get the most rides on one ride or on all thrill rides or something and he won the pass for doing so. I think I might have tried a little bit but obviously not as much has him (should have put more effort in looking back). Always interested to hear the views of people who have been enthusiasts from back in the day (as a lot here have been as well). Surprised he hadn't built up a Youtube channel many years ago to be honest.

I seem to remember he did have a channel once and vlogged quite frequently. Often appeared in TPWW's vlogs too. Then when things blew up with TPWW years ago, he disappeared for a bit and has been vlogging on and off ever since.I wonder if Dean's still got his annual pass for life? Back to Wicker Man, and although the overall [lack of] ride availability across the park this season does mostly fall to Towers and/or Merlin I can't help but think they have also had some bad luck along the way too - Wicker Man being the prime example.

It's closed for 'maintenance' until the 18th according to the Towers website.Closed all day today, the operators weren't too sure what was going on.

I'd be very pee'd off if I was going today or tomorrow. As it is, we're booked to go on Friday. Just hope it's working by then!!

Yeah it's not good and will fall on one of our days planned this week.
The sheer amount of comments on various sites saying it's closed purely for £££
Not sure what to make of that if honest

I doubt it’s closed for budget reasons, if they were going to close a coaster for budget reasons for two days it would be Galactica or Oblivion as you get more saving on rides as they have a higher staff dependency with a lower profile.
That said the fact the narrative that it could be budget related is becoming more commonplace is something Merlin should look at as they don’t help themselves.

Sounds like there's something they're trying to hide....![]()
Or just for ease for access for workers and the like.
I heard that too.Sounds like there's something they're trying to hide....![]()
Two sources, must be true.
