Yes, millions to purchase and then 18-20% maintenance fees. Once you have multiple packages and need all the bells and whistles.

that isn't millions/year,

CATIA (an standard in many industry's) is probably the most expensive, per seat it costs $14,100 meaning they would have to be buying 70 licenses per year, once they have brought them it is $2,500 for the annual maintenance, they would have to have over 400 licences, and I don't think amusement companies engineering teams are that large, according to LinkedIn they have 69 employees, this isn't a perfect match but a lot of them will be sales, managment etc, people who don't have much use of cad.

in addition there are many alternatives for significantly less, for instance fusion 360, solid works, space claim...

30 hours isn't quick.....it valleyed between 09:30 and 10:00 on the 2nd and wasn't open until the press event on the 3rd. A lot of disappointed people in the park for 2 days for what appears to be essentially user error due to weight and temperature factors. It doesn't look like any mechanical issues as the 2nd train when it was put on didn't take much persuasion to work but still at least all the influencers were happy right? I know everyone keeps pointing fingers at bad design, miscalculations etc. but Mack rides know what they are doing it is others that don't.

I'm fairly certain that the train that stalled on the 2nd during testing should have been fully filled with water dummies on a cold start especially - it wasn't. Only the front few rows so unsurprising that it happened (again) really.

Do you want another one? the TP app includes weather conditions for all rides apart from Hyperia. Prior to the stall on the 2nd the information was on there as I checked it said minimum temperature 5 degrees and maximum wind speed 47mph. I can't find it now, it is still on the website but not on the app.

And Tidal Wave, nothing on the app or website for the maximum wind and minimum temperature it can operate in.

Speaking of Hyperia, it is currently delayed after a one train operation at the press event last night. My speculation is that they're putting the second train back together, testing it and going back to full capacity for tonight.

Either way, it's a quick turnaround for getting it back up and running again 👏🏻

Didn’t Hyperia have the highest tolerance out of all coasters for Wind?

Surely it’s as simple as that, manufactures said it can operate in Winds up to X, if they’re operating within those parameters and it’s failing, wouldn’t that mean the obligation to fix is on Mack?

Technically, but I think a lot of people now don't believe there to be an issue with the design but rather TP not reading the instructions. If you look back at the Smiler after the stall incident, they made changes to what they need to do which is why every morning you will see trains going around full of water dummies to warm everything up before the first riders are allowed on. Obviously, this wasn't the only reason for the accident, but it was a factor as the stalled train was empty, but the first stall on Hyperia happened in June and had not happened again until 02/10 which can't just be luck based on how many cycles it has had. I think they forgot to do something or didn't do it properly.

I was there first night of fright nights last year, a crazy 23 degrees and beautiful weather and crowds were very light, could be that people booked because of hyperia night rides.
