Although could argue they’re just making the queue longer for people who don’t get to visit much.

Thorpe Park: General Discussion

It still baffles me that they've only built Hyperia with two trains. They knew it was doing to be the big new flagship ride so it should have had three even if it could only run two at a time (re Stealth). Although I'm sure you could easily fit two trains on the break run if needed.

Stemming this line of discussion - where TPWW are or aren't isn't particularly interesting or relevant to this topic. Thanks! They wasn't in the main queue they were in the fasttrack queue seen them filming

If Mack / Thorpe Park had anticipated that the ride would valley twice within the first six months then perhaps they might have had a third train on standby. It still baffles me that they've only built Hyperia with two trains. In their defence, though, I think that many rides only have 2 trains, and so perhaps they saw a third as unnecessary?
(I have seen some rides - such as Shockwave at Drayton Manor and The Big One at Blackpool - occasionally only use 1 train at a time)
Perhaps its a lesson for future, though - especially for 'floaty' rides, which are probably more prone to valleying.

Got to the park in the afternoon yesterday. Hyperia was having issues and had a queue evac and was down for around 3.5 hours. Maybe an issue with the train as they removed the train at one point so no train was on the circuit.
Spoke to quite a few unhappy people yesterday who waited over 2.5 hours and didn't even get given a priority pass to get back on. Seems some people did and some didn't.
Really disagree with them selling Fasttrack on 1 train though, especially with the amount of RAP too. Yesterday the RAP, SRQ and Fasttrack queues were all full at the entrance. Even right now, they're selling Fasttrack and the queue is advertised at 240 minutes.
Credit where credit is due though, they were smashing the trains out as per. I expected them to close the queue fairly early yesterday but they didn't close it till 9pm. I assume this was due to the issues it had earlier in the day? It was running gone 10:30pm...

I imagine the majority of those fast tracks were given out as compensation to people who complained. Kind of a kick in the teeth to those that have actually paid for it.Got to the park in the afternoon yesterday. Hyperia was having issues and had a queue evac and was down for around 3.5 hours. I don't know this for a fact, but I think that Thorpe Park leave Hyperia open longer than advertised if it was having problems earlier in the day.I expected them to close the queue fairly early yesterday but they didn't close it till 9pm. When I went on Friday 19th July, I remember that it didn't open until around 11:30 a.m., and the queue didn't close until 6:30 p.m. or so* (even though it officially should have closed at 6).
By contrast, when I went again on Monday 12th August, it opened on time at 10 a.m. and closed around 7 p.m. (as advertised).
(*I wish that I had known this in advance, as I joined the queue right before 6 p.m., but I could have gone on another or ride or two first! Especially as I had wasted 15 minutes queueing in the morning before giving up)

It was running until around 11 last night. Waited 2 hours 20 to the minute for it, half an hour faster than advertised. They were churning trains out as fast as they could, sprinting down the station.
In my defence it was for my first ride, we'd spent the day at LLW and Chessie so thought after they closed we'd go in and endure however long it would take.
Still nowhere near the longest queue I've been in this year

You visited all three of Legoland Windsor, Chessington, and Thorpe Park on the same day (and a Saturday no less)? Wow.In my defence it was for my first ride, we'd spent the day at LLW and Chessie so thought after they closed we'd go in and endure however long it would take.

What sort of time did the queue close out of interest? Did they keep it open till 9?

I've done 7 parks in a day on a Saturday. Just gotta be focussed and get things done and run away.
Closing the queue early would have been massively insulting.

Parks/Funfairs/Collections of rides. Coasters only as well.
Paultons: Storm Chaser, Flight of the Pterosaur, Velociraptor, Dino Chase, Cobra, Cat-o-pillar
Clarence Pier: Mad Mouse, Tidal Wave
South Parade Pier: Happy Caterpillar
Funland Hayling: Mine Train
West Sands: Big Apple
Harbour Park: Ocean Coaster
Brighton Pier: Turbo, Crazy Mouse
Probably could have a stab at doing half of those in the time it takes to get through the normal queue of Hyperia on 1 train.

I'd avoid this ride on one train. Joined a 90 min queue and we're 150 mins in and still not that near the front...
