2025: General Discussion

There’s a new Hex behind the scenes tour just gone on sale

Yeah also visited yesterday. Smiler queue was awful, advertised at 70 and waited about 2hrs30. A lot of people leaving the queue, and the area is a bad state.
Must say operations were very odd, Smiler was sending round empty trains as well Wicker Man. Still on 2 trains.
13 and Nemesis were both good though, good to see 13 on 3 trains, chucking them out.
Hopefully it's just a start of the Season thing.
But it is clear the see the park is lacking capacity badly, need filler rides asap.
If you don't want to do a coaster, the only thrilling rides you can do is toxicator and NST!
Wicker Man was definitely on 3 trains on Friday. We were on the brake run, one was going up the lift and there was one being loaded up

Well they look like a good improvement. The old ones were very much of their time.

I'd imagine that means that at least ATH and Splash Landing might also have updated logos in the pipeline, if not the other accommodation as well.

It does indeed look like the hotels have also received updated logos (though the Splash Landings logo is almost identical to what it was before):

Can't be Easter holidays, Easter isn't until the 20th!
Have to find new words for the break in Yorkshire!
Sheffield schools are off this week and next week for what they class as Easter hols. They return on the 14th and then have Good Friday and Easter Monday as days off. Most other areas though either start hols next week and return the day after Easter Monday. Or like Staffordshire break up the week after and return Monday 28th

Seen a good video from Pleasure beach experience talking about where are Uk parks going wrong and what do they need to do to improve. He mentioned the lack of investment in a major new ride at Towers since Wicker man and I’m inclined to agree. Reborn and Toxicator to the public are essentially just refurbs of older rides. Despite Toxicator being a brand new ride I’ve heard so many people refer to it as Ripsaw. Alton manor as well was just another existing ride getting a retheme. Whilst they’ve made some good investments recently I think it is time now we see a new coaster that will attract new punters from far and wide. Hyperia, albeit far from perfect, is still a fantastic ride and despite its issues with reliability it has massively helped with Thorpes attendance. The secret weapon project has typically seen a new coaster every 4-5 years but since Wicker man we are now on 7 years. Covid has likely set them back a little but that’s too long between major new investment in my opinion. The coaster lineup has gone stale and doesn’t feel that exciting

I actually thoroughly disagree with this take, the refurbishments at Towers are one of the few things I think they have got right, they needed doing as the parks ride stock was getting very aged.

Also Towers has a lot of coasters compared to many theme parks, I think filler attractions are were they are lacking. Which is why I was disappointed they axed Blade this year.

Let’s put it this way if I bought the park tomorrow a roller coaster wouldn’t be my first purchase. I would get 4 extra flats and bring back a dark ride in the Toyland building before pressing go on project horizon.

The UK theme park industry’s problems are more around service, cost/ quality, staffing and maintenance of theming. Not lack of new coasters.

Another point for you here Ethan matey...
Perhaps you have been riding the same coasters over and over again instead of getting plenty of other parks in, at least around this country.
They are stale to you, because of repetition.
Simply whacking out the same coasters in the same park again and again is the actions of a sad old man, not a young un.
oh.
