If it is BTTF and they went for the 88mph speed for authenticity, there’s no way that spike can be anything higher than 250ish ft. Yes it’s tall, but not the giga the YouTubers are claiming!

And to think I thought the closest I'd get to a back to the future ride was the frankly amazing We're Back, Kids From The Future ride at Movieland Italy.

dark universe is essentially this, and people like it (as far as I can see, although I am trying to avoid a lot of the full revies) as I can definatly see them wanting to revive it

I really like how they are doing this, it appears to have a good amount of UK IP with some US (Back to the future, LOTR, etc) this could be really good getting a taste of america without doing what disney did with DLP (although I think they did it in france, and the UK is probably more accepting to US culture)

your probably right but I still think it would be a mistake not to include as a replacement to Potter from the get go.

I believe that the Roberts have said many times there will never be a remake, reboot, or sequel of any kind, as long as they are alive. And all respect to them for that. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy what we love though!

I was lucky enough to visit the "Secret Cinema" BTTF in Stratford a decade or so ago. While wandering around "Hill Valley" before the show started, we found the "hidden" 80's bar amongst all the 50's things. There was an actress standing in the corner, wearing 50's attire, playing with a "ball-in-a-cup"....
Me: I can never see one of those without thinking of Family Guy.
Her: What's a "family guy"?
Me: .... I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.

Wish such quick wit could have been recorded. It'll never happen again. ;)

80s nostalgia is on top right now, even with generations that weren’t even alive when it all happened. I blame stranger things. Seems like a smart idea.

Does also bring new audiences to older movies (..or more merchandising. People will buy anything if it has some pop culture brand or IP but that’s a confusion for another day). I sure know I’m watching The Twilight Zone because of Tower Of Terror, with the classic Universal monster movies lined up, for revision for Epic of course.

…And of course the 80s music with it. Could we see this happen do we think? For all purposes they do have a song from the movie that would be a great choice. Ah, I’m picturing it now. As soon as you reach the top of the spike - “that’s the power of love!”

Of course this sounds no good in text format though just.. use your imaginations!
 
Not surprised that 80s and 90s franchises feature heavily. People look at time as a creative peak for Hollywood, new franchises are few and far between

It's the classic parent/child generation nostalgia gap. Same reason we have BTTF in the first place. ;)
I've already seen "best of Nirvana" advertised as "perfect for fathers day". A good decade back I swore that as soon as I see "ibiza classics" shilled with that tagline, it's time to take a long walk in the snow. ;)

Yes he has said that. Fortunately I don’t think the concept works as a modern reboot without massively deviating from the essence of the story so hopefully it never happens!

I was actually fortunate (and old, sob) enough to visit Universal Hollywood just after they’d finished making the sequels and part of the tour took us around the “future” 2015 Hill Valley set!

Recreating either the 1985 or 1955 version is such an open goal for a theme park plaza (the latter is basically Main Street USA) and modern technology means they’ll be able to incorporate the original stars into the ride.

Im all for a 1950s themed area. We frequent a place in North Yorkshire called Billy Bob’s that is basically set up as a 50s diner and it’s great. People love that old school Americana.

1980s I’m less sure about though, not sure I could cope with all the perms and neon spandex.
 
I’ve tried to analyse as much as I can but I can’t see any water rides unless they are potentially indoors like they have Kung Fu Panda at one of there other parks an indoor log flume?

I suppose they’d have to take into account the weather, but doesn’t the Asian parks also have a rapids ride?
