[🌎 Universal GB] General Discussion

wow, that is not that true, AIR is quite a bit less thrilling, but trust me there are forceful and exciding flying coasters out there, manta at sea world is one of them, they have a pretzel loop (one of my favourite elements) and the forces you get on that are insane, it is like being on the launch part of stealth for like 10 secs, when these rides are done right they can be really good and thrilling.
And Galactica is still a great ride very Unique layout for B&M Flying Coaster as was the original Flying Coaster. Whatever it is it will be good.

Hoping it is an intamin Mega Coaster a lot of the elements on it seem like something intamin would do also Universal hasn't worked with B&M in a Decade

Universal's only B&M flyer is infamously one of the most intense roller coasters out there.... and my personal favourite ride in the world!

The infamous B&M flyer Pretzel loop might be intense but it isn't fun though. It's massively uncomfortable for many people.

I just don't find them enjoyable coasters personally.

A clone of flying Dinosaur could actually be what they have in store too.
If the green coaster is indeed part of the Jurassic Park area, I do think a clone of Flying Dinosaur is highly likely, it just makes complete sense in my opinion. Personally I'm not sure I'd ride it as I'm not a fan of Galactica, but the UK is long overdue a bigger B&M Flyer.

I can't see it being a Flying Dinosaur ride from Mac on the account the one in Japan is rubbish. I hope it a floorless B&M like Hulk, if not I'd be happy with something Intamin

I’ll be there every week if it is :D

I don't think its a flying coaster and the reason is because you look at the lift hill it doesn't scream flying coaster and screams more a flying dutchman given the track is facing upwards so I am leaning toward a hyper esc ride purely because they have the 300ft height limit they can go so between 200-299ft coupled with the fact it is very different to what Orlando has in its lineup

I wouldn’t read too much into how they’re presenting the coaster’s lift hill.. it’s intentionally vague and likely designed to avoid giving away any clear hints about the ride type or manufacturer at this stage.

Galactica is a very early flyer, and isn't too typical of a flyer (others are a lot taller with much more force and speed)

Could it be a new Vekoma flyer? It would make more sense to use a next-gen Vekoma model rather than an older B&M version.
don't they use a launch track no lift hill?

I can't really tell wether the track is above or bellow from the image, I didn't think the flying duchman was made any more

I like Galactica, but it’s natural that for most people who have it as their only flying coaster to not be particularly enthused about another one due to its tameness and reliability issues. Can rest assured though that if Universal’s is indeed a flying coaster, it’ll be in a completely different league.

The reason I say Flying Dutchman is because you start the ride with the track facing the sky which typically you find on old Flying Dutchman, B&Ms don't do that also there is a twist at the top of the lift

So true. My other flyer - Tatsu - is worlds apart and a great coaster

Sorry, I should have clarified that the reason I don't like Galactica is because I find the riding position so uncomfortable. Because of that I don't think I'd enjoy a more intense layout 😂

I don't think anyone is building a flying coaster with a skywards facing lift hill in the UK, let alone Universal, as water boarding tends to be frowned upon.

Interesting, and of course still vague article on Universal.

Thought the below quote was very candid, and really does show what a missed opportunity Merlin have had for so many years, with arguably three existing parks capable of becoming ‘top 25’

"A country with the population and the tourist visitation of the UK should have probably three of the top 25 theme parks in the world. Right now they don't have any”

Okay so we do have some top 25 Parks, Alton Towers is a special park very unique to most with beautiful landscapes. Thorpe Park has unique thrill rides with majority of having one of a kind layouts and Paultons is a very pretty park in of itself.

People forget Towers is actually a great park
