I believe nobody knows anything for sure apart from Towers themselves.

It's an ideal scenario for Alton Towers to add to their flat rides where they're short and Merlin have a tendency to move some of their secondhand rides to other parks if they're in good condition and still usable elsewhere i.e. River Rafts, Storm Surge, High Striker, Trawler Trouble, Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop etc.

If this is the case I am very excited; however, I really don’t think we need another major ride closing right now.
 
If what we heard from JW that the ride doesn't need a retract then surely a repaint is a must, maybe add more theming such as the first lift hill being enclosed which let's face it looks ugly with that banner or sheet on the side.

Also didn't they have to remove theming to accommodate the new trains from Vekoma? Also a nicer looking entrance would help.

Vampire probably won't need a retrack for a while look at Iron Dragon at Cedar Point and Ninja at Six Flags Magic Mountain both older Arrow Suspended and neither have received a retrack.

And unlike Nemesis, Vampire is nowhere near as intense as Nemesis nor puts as much stress on the track also Vampire is built on relative flat ground and there are older steel coasters than Vampire that haven't had a retrack

I would suggest a refresh is happening. Repaint perhaps.

Nothing too major like a full retheme.

Maybe new trains imagine the if the current vekoma ones were replaced by the lap bars of other Suspended Coasters, remember the current Vampire is the New Vampire not the og

Yes very much aware of this. No chance of new trains - they aren’t all that old. Maybe a refurb of them. It’ll be more cosmetics of the ride area / station in my view.

I don't think Vampire is the right ride for a Julia Donaldson retheme - I'd say it would be more a conventional junior coaster such as Project Play's one would be more suitable.

I'd also say there would be an uproar if they changed Vampire to such a theme.

It's like changing Nemesis to let's say Mr Tumble's Canyon Tumbler or Vicky Pollard's Yeah But No But Twister 🤣
