Drayton Manor Park

I’ll admit I’m still flabbergasted that The Wave has such abysmal throughput.

I timed Shockwave at a solid 350pph or so in its old standup form, and standup trains are an awful lot more faffy than a regular sit down train with a lap bar in principle. With a lap bar train, surely you should be able to just pull the bar down and go, resulting in far quicker dispatches?

But for reasons unknown, The Wave somehow seems to have notably worse throughput than its predecessor!

Sometimes it is the guests fault as well having to put the bags down to the side, it's not just the park but guests to. They are working on something to improve throughputs Freelockers at exit would be the ideal solution save the faff of putting your bag on the other side

That would have been an issue on Shockwave as well, though. And every other ride in Drayton Manor.

I feel that The Wave’s issues are more specific to that ride. Having an additional train would add some capacity, but a 2nd train would also stack for minutes on end given how slow proceedings in the station are. The best change they could make would be to find a way to scrap this whole deal with “don’t touch the lap bar” and having to have staff push it down twice.

Having automatic Lap Bars like Mack Rides attractions that require no checking.

Or even something far less high tech than that would be a benefit.

Just simply having lap bars that can be pulled down by guests and only need to be checked once, as is the case on the vast majority of lap bar coasters including all the others in Drayton Manor, would be a huge benefit!

Friday for the park was a big failure. I got there at 3:45 expecting to park on the Vikings car park but only the disabled parking area was open. I drove into the main car park and it was quite busy but got into the park and the queue times were
IMG_5495.jpeg
Gold Rush was a walk on and they were sending half empty trains most of the time.
River Rapids were also a walk on.
Accelerator got on the next train
Jormungandr was also a walk on
Troublesome trunks just had to wait for the next train.
Wave swinger got 2 goes on it as there wasn’t a big queue.
Shootout was a walk on
The Haunting was the longest wait 5 mins.
We spent most of the time in the museum. The mistakes was shocking

The plans the looping group have for the western restaurant

Think they wanted a bigger shop in Thomas land

It’s a shame they didn’t go ahead with the restaurant. The way it’s styled on the top would tie in more with accelerator new theme they have started, isn’t that called Bills something actually?

Before they start works on the pirate adventure, I do wish they complete this area first like the restaurant, accelerators exterior and queue and relocating a new flat ride there with the updated lights shown in the concept art. As the area is nearly complete, but not quite.

Are they doing the restaurant or not, I'm confused 😕 The area would benefit from one
Probably not, it was used as a makeshift sign and scenery painting workshop last year for Gold Rush i have no idea if its still the same but The Haunting's exit was still an empty dark room Yesterday. They are so slow at building things by the time they would get to opening a restaurant it would need a retheme again.

They currently still using it for a paint shop and props making work shop.
Every time I go they do something more round the park.
So let’s start at the entrance and they finished it off
IMG_5470.jpeg
Air Race is currently getting TLC atm with the outside of the queue building been repainted and cleaned.
IMG_5472.jpeg
Forgot to take a picture but Stormforce 10 exit stairs has been finished been repainted and they also painted the little lighthouse above the shop.
They also repaint the yellow flooring on the wave swinger platform and queue line and currently replacing the queue fencing but it’s not been painted yet.
The rapids has had some work done with the misters in the tunnel working again and the smell pots are back.
The water jets are back and we got soaked

IMG_5493.jpeg
They added theming in the windows in frontier falls
IMG_5496.jpeg
Even Vikings had minor work with a new planter
