[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster

could they re-extend the ride after the construction is finished

Wishful thinking perhaps but I highly doubt it.

They could have repositioned the track to bear left out of the station, over the top of Big Fun Showtime, right at the clock tower, through the tunnel in the opposite direction, and across to the existing track. Maintaining roughly the same ride length and duration, and being able to re-use a very similar script.

But as usual, they went for the quickest and cheapest option.

I dont think shortening the track will make the ride queue quicker, they will still have to dispatch cars at the same interval, meaning they will arrive back at the same time. I would assume it will now operate with less vehicles due to being shorter.

So there’s no dispatch procedure on GSG to be precise; the cars are designed to move continuously and just slow down slightly through the station to aid embarking/disembarking.

The system was very very basic, working from a laser on the front of each car to detect a stopped car in front and avoid collisions- the offload host always had a long wooden stick in hand to block the laser which would stop the car if somebody was taking too long to get on or off.

Sound is a massive concern, particularly around Big Fun, it’s positioned the way it is to make sure that the noise doesn’t reverberate towards Farley. Vehicle access is also required, so would very likely be a no-go area in terms of attractions.

It’s not brilliant that the route has effectively been halved, but if it comes with a wider refurbishment of the attraction and they’re able to up the throughput and/or reliability then it’s not a bad compromise.

Perhaps if the Photo Studio is removed, there’s space along the old ride layout for a walk-through attraction to be added next to Big Fun. Maybe something like a maze with a few activities along the way would be a cute addition.

It was a staple ride once upon a time for most of us growing up.
Sacrilege what they are doing to it. Should have been listed…..
It was a staple ride for me to but I also understand parks have to progress. I don't think it was old enough to be listed. I won't judge it till its fully complete for ride experience. I am more curious whether this is the start of something bigger because by moving Get Set Go could free up more space for more rides in Cbeebies Land.

Also the could of very easily removed it entirely which thank goodness we aren't loosing two rides

I think you should probably temper your expectations on something bigger. The space it has freed up is already being used for the new coaster.

And given they've invested money to shorten Get Set Go, that would suggest they intend for the ride go stick around, at least for the medium term.

I know most theme park projects are well in advance of becoming public knowledge so maybe there is a plan longer term

Only thing that ride is special to members of my family was during its Squirrel Nutty days was that my Dad and Uncle got stuck together while riding it and the sight of these two big men crampt together on this kids ride is one my family will forever find hilarious no matter what.

Find it funny that we did wonder what would be the next ride at Towers to get retracked, I don't think any of us had Get Set Go down on our bingo cards to be the one to do it.
To be honest I wish the whole ride got a repaint never liked the faded track

Basically give Get Set Go a full repaint of track and supports
Given the park's history of doing TLC to an area of the park whenever a new ride opens, I would suspect we'd get some TLC such as repaint here and there for Cbeebies Land. And TBF, the park has done quite a lot of work round the park in recent years to tidy the place up, problem is that the years of underinvestment and poor upkeep makes this an uphill struggle.
