Monorail Refurbishment

I am questioning if they are doing the same thing to the Monorail this year as they did overhaul each like in 2008

In 2008 the trains had aesthetic work (vinyls), honestly right now they need major work as does the rest of the system so other than taking off the window vinyls which seems to be happening I suspect not.

The trains aren't seemingly vanishing long enough for works to be done, unless anybody has proof of any vanishing for a long period of time?

The Jellybeans was seen at the start of the season and then vanished was not in the sidings for months but appeared back first time today looking quite a bit fresher and the strawberry was not in the sidings nor on the track today

It’s possible they are being cleaned but to be having a full overhaul they would be off the system longer than two months.

That said the issue isn’t really the trains, they are creaking but they run. The two issues are the lack of bay loading (air gates) and the fact they won’t let it park on the Entrance plaza bend because there are no evac platforms.

only way they get back to being able to run more than 4 trains is if they fix those issues.

It's odd they built an evac platform at one end, but not the other

At the park end they had the option of amending procedure so the train remains at the existing evac platform just before the plaza. Presumably that was considered the most cost effective approach at the time.

Going back and replicating what they did at the car park end and installing another platform directly by the station feels like a sensible option. They do seem to have more cash now than the period the original work was done so hopefully it’s something they look to do.

When did Celebration Train and Cow Train Daisy last run when did you last see those 2 operate

Another note is Strawberry train is missing and Jelly Beans train is back I wonder if one by one they are being sent for Overhaul
The celebration train is running on track today.

In addition, the past few times I have been the cow train has had a door open, with some work sounds and there is a section of sheet material (looks like acrylic) in the front cabin

Awesome little step get it back to its full glory. New operating system on the Monorail is needed and it could be the highest capacity ride on park

It is not the operating system that is the main source of the issues with capacity. The issue is lack of air gates in the stations.

The loading pens could previously be filled up before a train entered, meaning guests were ready to load as soon as the train entered the station. Now they do not even let guests into the loading pens before the train has arrived and stopped, massively slowing things down.

Yeah, nothing wrong with the programming of the system (it could safely opperate 9 trains before) it is just a procedual change which has caused this, although I believe there are 4 trains on track today so they are increasing it

Thinking about it air gates may be difficult, as a compressor may be required (I don't think any of the station has one) or a unique system is required.

It would not be difficult to fit a compressor to each station as part of the airgate upgrade. That would not be what is stopping them.

Besides many systems including some types of airgates can operate on different methods other than pneumatics.

If you're desperate on airgates instead of doors you could have electric motors to open them.

Doors would be better because there wont be room to open the airgates train side due to the clearance with the trains I do not think. The other option would be to open them towards the guests, but with a bay full of guests it would cause more problems as people stand there seemingly not realising and standing in the way as the doors open towards them.

They could re do all the bays, but it would be easier and cheaper to put underground style doors in that open sideways, I would have thought.

I actually think the Monorail trains might be my favourite fleet of any park with a Monorail the different designs give each train kinda its own flare

I am really hoping if the Monorail gets an overhaul the track is cleaned or replaced (Rails do wear and tear), and the stations are update I feel the hotel Monorail Station is not as good as the Tower Street Station
