Ride/Park Accidents

Just a quick reminder to everyone posting ride incidents and linking to external sites/embedding information. Not everyone is able to read external links, especially if they come from the social media website side of things.

This is a discussion forum, so please summarise the main points of the article in your own words - even better if you could add your own views and opinions too! It makes the topics much easier to read and participate in, rather than just having a collection of links for people to click. Thanks :)

In France, a rapids ride allegedly capsized, with the riders underwater for 30-40 seconds until bystanders righted it! Amazingly emergency services were not called and the ride has since reopened.

Europa Park - worker seriously injured working on Poseidon.

According to the police, the man had been working on a platform around 20 meters high when the ride suddenly started moving.

One of the worker's safety belts was caught by a carriage. The man was briefly pulled along and thrown against the carriage. A colleague, who witnessed the incident at close range, immediately activated the emergency stop switch and was thus able to prevent anything worse from happening.

Train was closed to visitors

Well done to the employee's colleague for hitting the emergency stop button straight away!

The staff member was harnessed to one of the MCBR’s I believe as it was 20ft high, it may have been a planned running test inspection of the brakes we simply do not have all the facts to denounce that poor lock out procedure etc was at fault.

Looping article

It almost reads as if he hit jog forwards on the MCBR controls, but the harness attachment was caught on a boat ?

In yet even more unsurprising news, a Jump & Smile style ride has broken an arm and injured people. Again.

Just to correct you, that's a regular frog-hopper-style ride and not a Smashing Jump. Quite different types they are.
