What do you think should go in Nickelodeon Outta Control’s building

Pretty unlikely that Towers would actually do something with the building, but considering it’s still there mostly intact, what do you think they should do with Outta Control? (I’m thinking scare maze)

If I knew the layout I would have an idea

TWODW doesn't have an indoor play area, so that would be my choice. That part of the park used to have a play area in the form of Wobble World.

Actually, Wobble World was where Gangsta Granny The Ride is now, the entrance to Outta Control is currently where Raj’s Bouncy Bottom Burp exists.

ok here's a higher quality version for now

Indoor play area
Coffee shop
Character meet and greet (inc Santa at Xmas)
Location for family scare attraction either scarefest only or otherwise (re-use of dungeons theming perhaps?)
Pre show space for cinema building

An indoor playground with sit down dining would be good for families.

Like a nicely themed version of the soft play room in a Brewers Fayre.

As far as I know it was left empty for a few years and then turned into space for merlin magic making or ents. A extension was built a few years back on to the back.

No idea if it’s still used now that Merlin studios don’t exist at towers and ents have pretty much all been sacked though.

The space was used for the Construction Team within Entertainments, the buildings behind it were used for Merlin Magic Making. In Outta Control they made a lot of the seasonal props for the various events the park has had over the years. I think there’s been photos and videos of inside the prop workshop over the years, but it was never identified as Outta Control, of course.

No idea if the space is still used, the new creative (Scare Events etc) at Towers is from the Construction-side of the former Entertainments department. So the Construction Team may still exist in some capacity. It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s now capacity back there to move any remaining services, and have the Outta Control building back in an operational capacity.

Ice Age building is knackered though, and I believe it might have been condemned a while back. It’s just used for prop storage, but would have to be demolished for anything to replace that venue. I believe there’s also photos floating out there of House of Monsters being stored in there?

Is it safe to say the Alton Towers has a problem with indoor attractions. The irony of wanting to build a new indoor attraction (horizon) a few hundred meters away from where the park already has an empty dungeons building, as well as 2 fairly substantial buildings sitting empty in Walliams cuckoo land really is something.

My knowledge of the history of this area isn't particularly great but what was the 3rd building along used for next to the driving school, i believe its listed as alton eats or a toy shop on some of the old maps. Is this building still usable as it looks quite substantial on google maps.

As for Nick out of control building an indoor play area with seating would be a big win especially over the Christmas and half term events when temperatures drop.

It was a fun house walkthrough attraction, themed around the Nickelodeon TV channel of the 1990s.

You were guided through various rooms, and engaged in different tasks, often with your parents watching as onlookers. There were fun ways for the goslings to move from section to section.

At the end, you were shown a video of your experience on a video wall made up of lots of CRTs.

Time has not been kind to my memory on the specifics of the attraction. I just remember that it was absolutely my favourite attraction at Towers, that I didn't understand why it wasn't open one day when I visited, and that I kept revisiting the area hoping that one day it might come back.

I'm sure someone has uploaded archived VHS footage of the experience to YouTube, but I could not bring myself to watch it. Sometimes hazy feelings and memories are better.
