I could be wrong but looking at the visual, there doesn't seem to be any reason why Edge can't remain which does make you wonder why they aren't including it as part of Valgard. There seems to be a connecting path to the park included in the plan giving direct access for guests staying in the accommodation.

Paultons Park: General Discussion

The long-term plan may be to get rid of Edge regardless. By Paultons standards, it’s an older ride now, and it may not fit their modern vision.I could be wrong but looking at the visual, there doesn't seem to be any reason why Edge can't remain which does make you wonder why they aren't including it as part of Valgard. I also happen to think it’s absolutely rubbish, like the other Disk’O I rode at Drayton Manor, but I’ll leave my personal opinions out of it…

I don’t even think it’s the layout for me. It’s the fact that I find the seating position and restraint style hideously uncomfortable. It's the rubbish layout Disko. The ones without the pointless lump in the middle are alright, the ones like Edge are not.
Granted, though, I haven’t done a Disk’O without the hump to compare, so I’m not 100% sure if a different layout would influence my view.

Personally I prefer the humped version as they're a bit less dizzy than the one without, but I do agree that they're uncomfortable and that Paulton's could replace Edge with a better ride.

I actually like the ride type as do my kids. It offers a different kind of 'thrill' experience.
Think there's two schools of thought on it's future:
1) they'll remove it next year. If the park is trying to become more thrilling then to the GP why remove one and replace with Drakon. It isn't in the way so do it in 2027 when the (alleged) water coaster arrives.
2) from talking to staff at superfans I get the impression they actually don't know. It wouldn't take much to re-theme but it is old and probably costs a fortune in maintenance and electricity to run. It's location means it is probably also missed by a lot of visitors. We know that next year the area will see a lot more people head that way so it might become far more popular. If so then I can see it staying. The 'hump' part would also make a great entrance portal for the accommodation area.

I'd say it is possible that the park are exploring all options re: Edge before making any decisions.
Considering that a Disko Coaster is a very popular model especially for the family-thrill audience, I'd imagine that the park would want to consider bringing in something of the same thrill level before getting rid of Edge. I'd also imagine it'll be a ride that is worth keeping around and getting refurbished.
That's an interesting thought and is a possibility however the park are very well stocked for family coasters with not much expansion space available for Peppa Pig World.Do u think they will add Daddy pig coaster to the park in the future?
It's likely something that's been thought about at the very least.
Critter creek & Pirates/ Teacups are right next to each other and would make a logical larger rethemed area. Not sure what they will do with the log flume area, they could always have an extension to Vikings at some point. After all these developments at Paulton's are complete where is the next area to redevelop one of 4 in my mind.
Critter Creek
Pirate Ship & Tea Cups Area
Raging River Log Flume Area
Main Entrance Way
One of those 4 need redevelopment at some point
There is also space for another ride/ expansion of Tornado Springs next to the car park

With the Log Flume area, it'd be quite a narrow area with the Wave Swinger, Seal Falls, Digger Ride, Unused area that Drakon didn't use and the PlaygroundsCritter creek & Pirates/ Teacups are right next to each other and would make a logical larger rethemed area. Only the Wave Swinger could realistically be retained

Except that Lawrence Mancey never said they had no plans for accommodation. He just said there was nothing in the short term. The video evidence is there.I have a feeling that "Paultons Park said they had no plans to build accommodation. Lawrence Mancey lied to me, made me look more of a fool and I am heartbroken." wouldn't be considered as a valid planning objection.

A new Valgard update from Paultons: finished track, completed and tested wild swing, and confirmation of 2027 attraction next to the food hall.
If only X-Sector had received this level of attention when The Smiler was built… not to mention The Smiler itself. Along with a new major ride, supporting attractions, infrastructure and proper area development feels sensible and forward thinking which feels lacking at AT.

Why always the digs at Towers I hate it when people pick a part Towers every time Paulton's is mentioned. I love Paultons and Alton for different reason both have pro's and con'sIf only X-Sector had received this level of attention when The Smiler was built… not to mention The Smiler itself. X-Sector had Enterprise, Submission and Oblivion when it opened so was the only ride the area needed at the time. The Smiler is a more impressive ride than Drakon for the fact it has the inversion record and is a much larger ride
