Skyride General Discussion

Do we even know for sure that the Sky Ride is down for maintenance?

Or could it be closed because they simply haven't hired / trained enough staff for the season yet and the ones that are already good to go have been allocated to the actual rides over the transit rides?

When TPWW put out his tweet/Insta post the other week about how disappointed he was in Towers on opening day/weekend, he was stood in front of the Valley's station and there was scaffolding next to the edge of the platform, so something is going on.

Fair enough.

Maybe the regeneration project isn't quite finished then or maybe more worrying they have encountered a brand new problem.

I still can't work out how cables come off guide wheels like that. Or do they take them off on purpose when it's out of action to stop them overtensioning or something?

Personally I can see the skyride going bye-bye before the monorail despite the investment they have done in it recently.

I think they take them off purposely to inspect the guide carriage and wheel assembly's on the tower.
