Interesting listing on Ebay, anyone want a running wheel?

My one concern with stuff like this is; how do we know it’s an actual Wicker Man wheel?

To my knowledge, the park has never sold them, so I don’t know how the person would have gained access to it other than through working at Towers. It’s easy to create a certificate of authenticity on Word and print it out.

I’m not saying it isn’t legitimate (there could very well be an Alton Towers engineer who has one and is being entrepreneurial), but I would be slightly wary.

Well yeah exactly mate, I'm not claiming it's real or anything. Interesting how there are photos of the maintenance bay though, must of worked there surely. Don't think they offer this on the VIP tours?

It looks like its the right wheel and bearing from the photos but who knows.

How can you tell? It might be a left wheel.
 
I personally am not a huge fan of buying these types of ride parts (even if they are genuine), because they simply look like generic components to anybody who visits your house etc

If it was something specifically branded, or obvious what it is even without a certificate or explanation (e.g. the log flume log) then that's a different story, though!

I was thinking more about a possible mid-term situation where we have to try to cross borders or whatever to save our families (before a nuclear holocaust). The physical metals might come in handy. This is probably for another thread though, which sounds fun (and actually not as crazy as it sounded a few years ago).
