[2024] Voltron Nevera | Mack Stryker Coaster

Are the restraints on Voltron the same as Ride to Happiness, where they automatically lower and you cross your arms?

We had a mild incident on the latter this week where we were not prepared for it and so my sons arms became pinned under the bar. The staff didn’t notice and i had to get their attention to release. So would be good to know in advance for Voltron next month!

Ah crikey, yes it is the same system on Voltron. The staff lower the restraints per row, though (standing in front of each one), so would be more likely to spot if someone isn't ready. It might be worth just letting them know before you board that you might need more time to get ready once seated.

@Bowser I've just added a bit after posting.

Found a video in the station and looks like the staff are pretty on it checking the restraints with 2 people per row.

Slightly confused that everyone has their phones out in the station, people mentioned that this is a mandatory lockers ride but guessing there's no metal detectors like with FLY?

There is a staff member with a metal detector wand thing after the lockers before you go up the stairs but it is not as intensive as on F.L.Y. (which is a proper airport security search, they wouldn't even let that vlogger whose schtick is that he wears a necktie wear his tie).

With F.L.Y. I assume it is because the ride has absolutely no nets under the track to avoid spoiling the look and crosses over the walkways a lot. I assume it is a condition in the risk assessments for operating the ride. Voltron does have a few nets in certain places.

Plus some of the things you might think are phones in the station are actually cameras with secure chest straps. Europa Park still allows on-ride filming at their discretion whereas Phantasialand banned it some years ago.

They have certainly become stricter on Voltron.

Seen staff asking people from single rider queue to go back and put phones in lockers. They are pretty hot in the main queue too.

Even cottoned on to the queue jumpers from
Single rider to Virtual line queue. Seen plenty being sent back in disgrace on my last visit 😂

Restraints down, train will go. Got to be ready, rolling station and high throughput, they will not stop or slow down. It's beautiful to watch such efficiency and I wish more parks were like it.

I’ve seen people mention trains will slow or stop, eg for those with mobility issues.

I’m not aware that they slow, but I could be wrong.

Stop… yes, but it’s probably a bit generous saying that it’s for those with mobility issues. More the system will stop, much to the huge annoyance of staff, if a train isn’t ready for dispatch by a certain point due to slow guests (whether that be faffing or genuine issues).

Do EP do shouting? I know various German parks and Kirmes ops will shout at guests if they are slow. It's great for throughput, no faff allowed. SIT DOWN.

Not particularly, they are efficient and can be visibly annoyed if you are faffing but I wouldn’t say they shout.

The staff on Voltron will generally make sure everyone has their arms crossed before lowering the restraints, so you shouldn’t have any issues.

The rolling station will stop automatically if the restraints aren’t down by a certain point. And I’m sure they can stop it manually if someone is getting on from the exit side say from a wheelchair (although I’ve not actually seen this myself). That’s not something they’d do with anyone from the main queue though.
