I noticed this park doesn't have an official thread so i thought i'd start one if that's ok? I don't have a lot of information so perhaps this isn't the best OP for such a thing but happy to amend.

This park doesn't seem like its on a lot of peoples radar. Indeed it was mentioned to me a year or so ago and after having a cursory look i dismissed it as not much. But a well known vlogger has recently visited and upon seeing the footage, the park actually looks quite amazing!

They also recently opened an onsite water park which looks equally unique.

They have a variety of onsite accommodation options too plus there are plenty of alternative hotels locally. The airport and train station are a mere 15 minutes away by taxi.

Park opening hours seem incredibly generous, generally open till at least 9pm all year and often much later! I haven't been able to ascertain whether all the rides stay open that late but there's nothing to indicate they don't. The majority are based indoors too.

Notably the park is home to Europes (and i believe the world's) only operating Mack Rocking Boat! This ride is listed as seasonal but opens from April onwards.

Generally the focus of the park is on technology based rides. For me this has drawn my interest as everything is quite sensory based which would appeal to my autistic son, with rides similar to Sky Lion at Legoland (Flying Theatre) and Danse Macabre at Efteling (Dynamic Motion Stage).

I'm sure lots of people on here are aware of it and have perhaps visited so would be great to hear more about it. My only hesitation about visiting is none of the accommodation is self catering which is an issue for us so would be good to have opinions on the food options. We managed to do Phantasialand despite this and the food options do seem plentiful on the website.

It's on my list of parks to visit but its not really close to many other parks to fit it into a trip.

Probably look at going in 2028 once the vekoma thrill glider coaster is open, same sort of coaster that's opening at Magic Mountain in 2027.

I went with school years ago. Absolutely bizarre park then with just simulators (including the Race to Atlantis one that once resided at Phantasialand). Has certainly changed a lot since then but as mentioned isn't really near anything to pair it up with to make a venture worthwhile.

The Mars themed hotel looks cool.

I went on a school trip around thirty years ago, it was cool back then but mainly just different combinations of IMAX type screens and 3D glasses, plus a few weird outdoor "rides" like water tricycles. Does seem like the park has changed significantly since to get closer to a traditional theme park selection of rides rather than focusing so heavily on cinema screens.

I’d recommend it as a 1-2 combo flying into Nantes and doing it with Puy du Fou. The park hotels we found are meh, but there are some lovely places to stay in the surrounding area - La Maison de Martha in particular is a beautiful B&B facing an old town hall just a few minutes drive from the park.

It’s a shame it takes “influencers” to put these places on people’s radar, as the park was quite prominent especially on the 90s. I regularly recall seeing it in holiday brochures, in the same way you’d see the likes of PA.

As for the park, it’s a real Epcot facsimile, which has faded over the years. I think that’s the single most fascinating thing about visiting and seeing the variety of architecture, some of which is in buildings that aren’t even used. Other standouts for me were the roboarms dancing to Martin Garrix, the Tornado Chaser attraction which is very unique, and the toilet bunny dark ride which was a delightful farce. The finale of Kinemax is also very unexpected.

If you’re after unique theme parks, that Futuroscope-Puy du Fou combo is probably the best large scale combination you can do in Europe.

RCDB says its about 130 miles from Vulcania which I'd definitely add on if you're looking for something completely different to the usual. Loads of science and volcano based attractions, an enormous Imax cinema (showing documentaries), an amazing planetarium, a trackless dark ride, multiple 4d type theatres, other experiences, and a roller coaster.

Then you're relatively close to Le Pal, Parc des Combes, and Walibi Rhone-Alpes.

Is it easy to get taxis?

The EcoLodges look decent but again no catering.

I had heard about it through school trips and cycling clubs.
You all spent a fortune of your taxes on the place, believe me.
I fettled the receipts.

Am in the Loire valley this summer. For so many years when driving to the south of France, we'd stop in the Loire, have a great lunch, a glass of good wine, and I'd think why am I driving another 4 hours south to somewhere too hot. Eventually acted on that thought and have had great holidays in the loire, cold cab franc or sauv blanc in a guingette overlooking the river, beautiful castles. So the area is worth it regardless of theme parks. Am glad this thread has been created though, because this summer I want to go to Puy de Fou or Futuroscope and need to work out which to pitch. I'll only get away with one so have to choose!
