Six Flags Great America: General Discussion

And here is a look at the first full circuit test:

It is a pity that it's so short as what's there looks great. Loving the sound of the launch and that barrel roll should be brilliant!

Is that a catwalk at the highest point? I guess there's a small chance it could stall there why not a boomerang style spiral staircase rather than going over and across the whole support structure.

It's short but what's there looks brilliant. It should pack a real punch.

I'd imagine that it is safe to assume that Six Flags will leave that bare concrete tunnel complete with wooden fence and Six Flags plastic signs as it is.

I'm now hearing rumours that American Eagle's time is ticking and it's not long till it may be RMCed or removed for good or maybe but least likely get new PTC trains!

@Rick . Fair enough but apparently they were going to originally rmc American Eagle before rmc offered to build Goliath!
That feels like some fanboy fiction, even if it has a grain of truth in it.

It's possible they could Ibox it, would certainly be an interesting transformation. It's such a massive structure, if it went the way of Colossus (better ride, doesn't look anywhere near as cool) I guess some folk might consider it a shame although probably fair to say Eagle has been more iconic for Great America than Colossus was for Magic Mountain in recent decades.

Rolling Thunder felt like a dead cert for RMCing but no such luck.

I certainly wouldn't like to pay the Eagle maintenance bill, that's for sure.

I think the reason why Rolling Thunder wasn't RMCed was because it's interactions with El Toro would have made it harder to be more creative and apparentley it wasn't 'fit' for RMCing sadly. I think American Eagle is a good idea for RMC treatment but i think it's time is short!
