Scarefest 2020

My experience of the scare maze times is that they r very relaxed about it. I’ve been both early and late and b4 i’ve even finished explaining why, they’ve ripped the ticket and said ‘have fun’, so I wouldn’t worry too much. 2 hours early yeah they may say something but if u go at 7:30 instead of 8 i’d be very suprised if there was an issue.

This is completely not true, the loss of effects on Wicker Man is unrelated to Scarefest and entertainments would not be allowed to take equipment from an attraction anyway
Well the smoke machines have been taken somewhere, unless like most effects at towers they are broke and just been removed (like wicker man screens)

I really think that the smoke has been turned off to not give people an excuse to take their masks off when riding Wicker Man

Thank you for the replies on my question.

I think I will go to the box office on the day and ask what to do. Hopefully they will have an answer!

The ghosts are back!! :D

Just a reminder that some great new Simon Allen soundtracks are up on his YouTube channel; featuring one new soundtrack for Darkest Depths and one for Freak Show: Toxic Junkyard.

Contradictory lol :tearsofjoy::confused:

Friend message Towers on my behalf as I hadn't had a response myself;

Then I finally got a response:

I’m all for accessibility, and perhaps visors are the answer, but I don’t think it is fair on the actors to allow anyone in the mazes without a mask, regardless of the reason.
Yeah from a health and safety point of view I completely understand. I'll just have to brave a mask for a few minutes.

My mum keeps going on that she thinks that I shouldn't have to wear a mask on the mazes, even though I keep saying that it's for safety reasons and I'll just cope. She's even tried to contact Towers herself, even though I've said she doesn't need to. :(

My mum spoke to Towers and apparently I will be able to go in the mazes without a mask. Problem is I'm now worrying that the actors won't want to go near me as I won't have a mask on. She said that I don't need to worry now but I still am, just for different reasons lol

It's made even more difficult by the fact that apparently if I wore a mask in the mazes they'd expect me to wear one in other areas like all guests.

I think it's ridiculous that they will let anyone in a scaremaze without a mask on and it shows a complete disregard for the safety of their staff. People in a scaremaze are very likely to scream which is the last thing you want as it's more likely that Covid could be transmitted further through the air when screaming with your mouth open. So what is it? Are they taking Covid seriously or not? Sorry, but in certain situations it should be 'No mask, no entry'. Way too soft as usual.

Also, why exactly are you not wearing a mask in all required situations where everyone else has to, if you can wear one for a few minutes to go in a scaremaze?

You could wear a visor I guess, as long as it fits tightly and doesn’t come off, it removes the issue of having to wear a mask and keeps the actors safe and they will feel more comfortable to come closer to you.

Because I'd have to. I've been saying that I'll brave a mask just for the mazes if there's no other option, but I can't really do that now.

I've thought about that, but they're a bit bulky for my liking. I'll have another think though.

I'm sorry but this is clearly a case of not *wanting* to wear a mask rather than not being *able* to wear one.

They are very different things and I dont see why an exemption should apply in that case, especially at an optional leisure attraction.

Actually that's incorrect; I could get distressed if I had to wear one. I brave one for the mazes if there was no other option because I'd miss out otherwise, bit that's not going to be an issue now.

I do feel a bit awkward being the odd one out not wearing a mask, but that's just me.

This will be my last comment on this subject as it's just ridiculous. This reminds me of the people who have a disabled pass so that they don't have to join long regular queues with everyone else (as apparently they can't cope with queueing) but will join a long disabled queue as long as it's still shorter than the regular queue. People can do things but they don't want to. Have a nice evening.
