Pleasurewood Hills

Bar the odd refurbishment which is basically work that should happen anyway they have not invested for a decade and counting, i think that's telling enough

Honestly Knightmare at Pleasurewood Hills could've changed the park's fortunes slightly. It may not have been much but it could be the headliner alongside Wipeout.
I cannot agree more. Of all the parks in the UK I actually thought it would have ended up at PWH yet no it didn't, it was ludicrously scrapped !

No, that was Southport.
The ride itself wasn't very good, and dented oil drums filled with concrete is not a good look for footers.
It may have been the best ride at Camelot, but that doesn't say much.

One of the Knightmare trains fell off the back of a lorry in Blackpool, several years after Camelot closed. I've no idea why it was there or where it was going though

Knightmare was a UK top 5 coaster for me, along with Mouse and Ultimate it's one of a lost trio of utterly bonkers coasters a world away from the precision engineering of today.

Just watched TPWW’s vlog from the park, and the park i didn’t expect to be as big as it was. It has so much potential with lots of unused land. Looping group really need to spend some money here now after a few years of drayton investment.
They have been focusing on sprucing up what they already before installing something new which I think we all can agree the park refreshrs is making it look better.

It could be a lovely park with the right investment. Nothing to take on Merlin but certainly at Drayton / Paultons level

It won’t ever get the level of investment that Drayton or Paultons do. It’s catchment area is to small, it’s guests numbers have never been on the level anywhere near those parks. While some New investment would help bring in guests they would never achieve the numbers. I think it’s less than a qtr of draytons attendance.

hopefully we will see some investment in new rides but I would expect much past new flat rides or maybe a used small scale coaster in the future.

Depends doesn’t it. Can never say never. I would never have thought Bedford would be seeing a Universal theme park a few years ago.

Understand the principles though.

I think a lot of UK parks are gearing up for some huge investments saw a comment the other day saying it could get a multi launch and Pleasurewood Hills when asked on social give the hint something is coming they have a ton of land to utilise.

For some coasters but also some other new rides an Endeavour or Gyro Swing would fit Pleasurewood Hills perfectly

Pleasurewood would do well to acquire some second hand rides, they don't need to spend mega money, the public will still see it as something new

The thing is, it's meant to be a major park. In 1991, Pleasurewood sent me a physical information pack. I copied the attendance figures onto a forum in 2004, and here they are:

1983 - 250,000
1984 - 280,000
1985 - 330,000
1986 - 407,000
1987 - 450,000
1988 - 503,000
1989 - 537,000
1990 - 545,000

Half a million is not bad at all... about half of Drayton and Paultons. Increased competition and lack of investment has lessened that, but the catchment area is still there.

The rise of the international holidays, the fact the local economy has fallen apart since then with ECW and fisheries disappearing will not help

It got 180,000 in either 2022 or 2023 according to a recent Looping Group informational video, while Drayton got 920,000 in the same year and WMSP did ~850,000 (?). Like Oakwood, I think Pleasurewood struggles to be much more than a holiday tourist park due to its remote location.
