Paultons Park: General Discussion

Visited the park today. Apparently it's the first time they've opened in the post Christmas period and it showed! Even by Paultons standards it was rather quiet as every ride was walk on all day! Funny to see coasters like StormChaser and Flight of.... operated completely by one host.

It wasn't dead though, the eateries were bustling and the shows/meets seemed more popular than the rides. Had a brilliant day, as usual.

That was something i really commend them for actually, every single eatery was open all day long! I don't think i've ever visited a Merlin park and seen that, even when they're heaving things are closed. The new restaurant seems nice, we only had drinks but there was once again a phenomenal amount of seating.

Had some great views of the new areas due to front row seating on the Vekomas. Nothing i could see that was newsworthy except i'd say the 2027 plot looks fairly small and would once again urge people to temper their expectations!

I'm glad you had a good day! I was very tempted to visit this week since I saw that all the main rides except the water rides are operating. It's great to see a park in UK offering a full experience at this time of year. However given the high cost of tickets and the fact that we want to visit next year for the new coaster anyway, we've decided to pass on this occasion.

Was there much in the way of Christmas decorations, shows etc? I think something like a Christmas lantern trail (included with the ticket price obvs) would really incentivise me to visit over the winter period.

What will be interesting next year is will Edge and Valgard be open during christmas since those rides are bigger then the others they may require more maintenance time.

In addition will the 2027 project impact Valgard being open if construction is going on

Given that the 2027 site is on the edge of the park, I don’t see why it would necessarily have to. Construction vehicles can access it even with the area being open.

Really? Whilst my expectations aren't sky high for whatever is coming, I thought the site looked pretty sizable. Especially as they've extended further down the back.
It's a decent strip of land which I wouldn't consider small by any means. It stretches beyond on old go kart area and would certainly accommodate a sizable ride if designed efficiently.

Well I suppose sizeable is subjective but the visible plotting out which one could assume is for the attraction looked to be smaller than Drakon let alone Valgard.

It doesn’t look to be a substantial track area but of course all guesswork at this point and I could be completely wrong!

Perfect for a Mack Battle Splash.

I've been trying to find photos and i found one from about a month ago, including someone saying the Go Kart track is still in place in the rubble so it could have been that i saw. Can't seem to find a picture of the old layout to help clarify.

Streuth that’s a painfully accurate shout.

Fits the demographic. Gives them a water ride. 3rd Mack ride at the park.

Then could maybe do something interesting with an indoor section, given the lack of popularity of battle galleons I hope it would tell them something, no matter how it’s dressed up. But they get it right most of the time so who knows.
