16th May if you mean the Super Fans eventWhen's the Event? is it this coming weekend?
Same day as Valgaurd's opening.

Clashes with SVR Diesel Gala as well, so those of us who like trains, coasters and Eurovision are in a pickle.

Superfans day is still a touchy subject for some of us
All jokes aside though, much love for Paultons!

I never really understand why Critter Creek gets so much criticism. Yeah ok it doesn’t have the wow factor of Tornado Springs, but it’s a nicely themed family area, and looks a million miles better than the area around the Teacups and Kontiki.
It's alright for what it is, folks keep forgetting it's aimed more at very young kids, but kinda "meh" now compared to the more cohesive, elaborate main themed areas from Lost Kingdom onwards (it's starting to remind me of Alton Tower's Walliams mini town square crossed with Energylandia's infamously wacky old themed area at its front).
It's OK enough to be kept around until 2030-ish, but it won't surprise me it'll get dramatically revamped or replaced by then...

Their 'Ride Availability' page has the area listed as closed November, December and January. I find this unusual as they mainly only open that side of the park during Nov/Dec... so could something be happening to the area or the closed zoo bit?

I speculated on this months ago as well, as you say, its very unusual which might suggest something happening.
Wouldn't think it anything major as they already have a major 2027 project already on the go!

They may well tease the next project after the Valgaurd Phase 2 announcement in May, we'll have to wait and see!I speculated on this months ago as well, as you say, its very unusual which might suggest something happening.

This is only my thoughts.....
I do think something may be planned for 2028 in the old log flume area, because it just seems odd that they have fenced off that area but painted the log flume base blue again.
Even if it's another flat ride, it would be good to get another ride in the area next to the sky swinger.
That's purely my thoughts only

That would be amazing, I'm thinking an inverting or thrilling flat ride to complement Drakon and Cyclonator to be honest. This is only my thoughts.....

Just saw Paultons have redone their website this year with use of UK's number one theme park and a slightly less child-like approach (possibly in preparation for Drakon and part of a anticipated gradual widening of target market)
Just noticed Dino Chase which never used to have a height requirement now has a 0.85 height requirement.

Ride the Dino Chase Ride here at Paltons Park! A prehistoric-themed junior rollercoaster, perfect for dinosaur lovers and young adventurers.

Here is an old video of Paultons Park from its own YT page (circa 2009, many many years ago now):
This was when the theme park was more local, still relatively unknown, and not so different from when it was first established in 1983 (apart from the family thrill rides). In the helicopter shots you can spot the more plain areas where future themed areas were built....
