Think they need to divorce the creators/club and superfans events. Maybe two consecutive days, one for Creators/Possibly Clubs and one in what seems to be the normal fashion of these events?

I’d had a feeling something was coming by the lack of further information but hoped it was just because they needed to firm up how it would run in the new area.

It definitely should have been thought out and communicated in the save the date last year so we didn’t all get our hopes up / plan to be there.

It does feel like the fairest way but, like others, can’t imagine the likes of TPWW being in the ballot. Although from PP’s perspective, they do need some ROI for the event.

Can understand why they've done that, but I'll be so upset if I don't get in. It just feels like a punch in the stomach, given they sent out save-the-dates last year, plus as @GooseOnTheLoose says, some people have already booked hotels and transport. And even if I get in, I'd still be disappointed if friends like @BooMT (who was awesome company for the two previous events!) missed out, as it's such a good social event.

It does look like we can bring a +1 if we are selected, I know some people already have agreed them but it might help some people who didn't get in have the opportunity to do the event.

This might account for why there's a ballot in place because they're accounting for 2 people parties.

Both previous events allowed attendees to bring a +1 as well.

Disappointing news. Already booked accomodation and made travel arrangements, probably should have waited but last year everything was so expensive last minute so thought I would book early. Anyway fingers crossed

It certainly isn’t the best look / approach to give one message months ago and then move the goal posts. I hope if not everyone can attend the evening event, they release offer a substitute of least entry on the day of the event as people will have made plans to be there

Yes, myself and @BooMT have received one.

Edit: The email states that unclaimed tickets will be released to a "waitlist", so there may be hope for those who don't receive an invite at first.

Not a great start by pp to the community who I do feel they have tried to reach out to and enjoy the support of.

It's certainly not ideal but I suspect they have been taken by suprise by the demand. As the park gets larger and has a higher profile it will need to manage expectations better. I'm sure they will learn from it

It seems the allocation still seemed to prioritise previous people and the new people mostly got left out. From what I've seen in terms of who got invites?

I can completely understand why it appears that way from the outside looking in, but it is likely just a quirk of statistics rather than a rigged draw.

If the underlying Super Fans mailing list is overwhelmingly comprised of people who attended the previous two events (which we can safely presume it is), then a truly random ballot is still going to select a majority of returning guests. If 80% of the names in the proverbial hat have been before, roughly 80% of the winners drawn will have been before too. It's just the law of probability playing out. Even though every single person has an identical chance of winning, the final results will always mirror the original list.

I just sincerely hope that the people who pulled the trigger early on non-refundable travel and accommodation arrangements, based on the initial "Save the Date", were amongst the lucky ones this morning.

I got invited to, and attended, the previous two events. This year I got the rejection email.

As others have said, very poor communication. But my thoughts on this have all been said already so I’m not going to keep on about it.
