2026: General Discussion

I'm old enough to remember when you could simply walk around the Towers themselves at your leisure during your visit!

I wasn't particularly interested at that age but my parents/grandparents enjoyed it so it was nice for them to have something to do that wasn't going on rides.

Also remember one room of the Towers had a gigantic miniature railway set up which seemed rather random.

It's a shame they can't/won't open it like that anymore.

Yeah that's certainly a reason; When I rode Gruffalo at Chessy a few years back, the boat in front of mine was sagging in the water on one side.

I can’t imagine anyone can tip those boats! They fill with water from the fountains usually, think some don’t drain properly.

I think it could be a busy one today! I got here at 8:56, and the queue to enter the plaza was almost stretching the whole length of the straight leading up to it! This was the plaza at 9:02:

No vloggers that I can see yet, but it looks like it could be rammed… I intend to give CBeebies a wide berth and rush off elsewhere upon getting in!

I’m amazed at how much people focus on the frogs when the rest of the park is in for need of attention! Perhaps that’s the idea.

As I have mentioned before, stuff like this is relatively cheap and is the only outlet those who work at the park and have a passion for it have.

The big problems require Merlin to spend money and they don’t seem to want to do that.

As of this writing, many (if not most) of the rollercoasters are down at Alton Towers due to weather delays (including Bluey, by the look of it).

Toxicator is still running, though.

Is this more evidence that AT needs more flat rides that can run in bad weather?

(Obviously, an indoor rollercoaster would be great as well - but I won't hold my breath for that)
