    Quick Questions

Re: Quick Questions 2013 I seem to remember hearing that the roof caved on the upper deck in on it around 2004/2005 time and it was removed and presumably scrapped.

    Quick Questions

Re: Quick Questions 2013 As far as I know it was all sold off to collectors after it was removed? Though i guess its possible there may be a couple of little bits liking around somewhere in a corner where no one has looked for years.

    Ex Alton Towers theming

An obviouse example for me is the theming of Ripsaw. Which originally had big blue transistor style elements on top of its vertical supports. And the saw blades from which it takes its name on the end of the arms. Sadly all of this was removed over the years to allow access for maintainance I...

    I've never noticed. ...

Nope that's a mobile phone mast :-) dispute their best effort to disguise it it still stands out a mile amongst all the trees. The flag tower behind Cloud cuckoo land is also covered in them.

    2013 park map

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we might get a revised map in May, they did that in 2006 I think it was. The new map was launched in March with the opening of Charlie, then a few months later they released a second edition featuring the Driving School once that opened. Then I'm...

    Unexplored Alton Towers

Thoreticaly you can still get to it, I seem to remember we stumbled upon it while looking for the step walk In the valley. It's not exactly along a well traveled route, but I'm pretty sure the steps leading into Slaines hollow from the woodland walk would get you there eventually

    Unexplored Alton Towers

There was indeed I have a photo of that too but didn't post is as didn't really show much! Also had a photo of the lodge with your ugly mug covering half the building. Didn't think posting that would be appetites. :-p

    2013 park map

Personaly I think x sector will be enlarged to be more prominent. And hopefully oblivion turned the right way around!! They really need to Reduce the area of map taken up by the hotels as it currently occupies about quarter of the map. If these was reduced then there would be plenty of space to...

    Talbot Street Tuesday/Thursday (Picture Heavy)

Re: Talbot Street Tuesday (Picture Heavy) Those images a heartbreaking to look at. The house was so intricately designed knowing that it all got ripped out shortly after these photos were taken is sickening. Seeing a few little bits in those photos that still sit there today is a bit...

    Unexplored Alton Towers

One of the little unexplored areas of the park that I always feel like is stuck in the 60s is the gate lodge in Alton Village. There is an obscure path leading to it from the gardens, but it's hard to find as the path branches off in so many directions. But the lodge itself is a little gem of a...

    2013 General Improvements

The box office was looking good at the weekend! Slowly starting to feel less like a recycled Your Day shop. Just need to get rid of the desks at the front! Or find a use for them. As for general maintainable the park wasn't looking to bad when I was there, the only thing that annoyed me that...

    Before Alton Towers

I've always though this for years! Every time I get a train out of Waterloo and see the battersea sat there I always think about how that olace is responsible for giving us the resort we see today, I feel a pilgrimage is in order! Haha. As that ace is th Ernest thing that ever happened no Alton...

    Talbot Street Tuesday/Thursday (Picture Heavy)

Re: Talbot Street Tuesday (Picture Heavy) I remember then2006 concept well. It came to light originally at the same time as the 'just add water' attraction concept for the old swan boat lake. There was a massive out cry at the time because the iconic frog fountains were to be lost in the...

    Alton Towers coin collection

I do believe I have a full set of these at home somewhere! They were a nice little bit of merch back in the day, my only issue with them was that the Nemesis coin looked totally un nemmie like, and didn't fit in with the idea of the ride at all. For those who never saw it it was simply the...

    Before Alton Towers

It's a strange thought that Alton towers wasn't their first choice of location for a theme park! How different would life be if they had been successful with their original plan! Maybe worth asking John Wardley about it at some point if we ever meet him again?

    Secret Weapon 7 Discussion

This is indeed good news! With the exception of the crab standing in for a young nemesis the sub terra videos are fantastic quality and help make the ride so much more immersive. Hopefully they will have the same effect on SW7!

Enterprise to be changed for 2013

I don't really see what change you can make to enterprise! The ride experience is based of the forces from the spinning wheel holding you in place. It's about as simple as a ride can get! I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work if it went backwards for example. These mysteriously new parts are the...
