    Black Hole

Is that the photo you were referring to in your original post? Or the one that I posed earlier in the topic? If you were referring to the one you just posted then ignore what I said in my last post, The photo you just posted is a well known photo of the ride during its refit in Europe, so in...

    Black Hole

I'm not so sure, I'm not convinced they would of torn down the tent to remove the ride, they didn't when she finally met her demise. They may of opened it up in places for access, but completely remove every trace of it from the site.? Also by the looks of that photo there's a lot of fresh...

    Rides that never were

http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?keyval=IZEOFCPGS7000&searchtype=PROPERTY&module=P3 This is the application for the zip wire too for anyone that's not seen the plans. And also as a random side note! The original planning app...

Wouldnt It be Great if Alton Towers Issued a Monthly Magazine who agrees???

Unless they charge us a LOT for it, that's the only way they will make enough of a profit ff it to make it viable.

    Rides that never were

I always thought it was in the Abbey woods sort of area. Is that photo the only evidence of the ride? I've never seen anything else about it anywhere, it's not even really mentioned in the article that image came from

    My Love of Nemesis

I think it's fair to say Nemesis holds a special place in the hearts of most coaster enthusiasts, particularly the members of this community. Its VERY rare to hear anyone complain about nemesis, or criticise the ride experience. Indeed she is still my favourite coaster ever, grated I still...

    Rides that never were

The fact that the balloon right is mentioned on those plans stands out to me. As the recent LTDP has shown, the layouts of the park used in applications are rarely updated, as seen by the remaining presence of ug land. So to me th exact the balloon right which never existed is listed seems...

The Alton Towers Music, Video and Other Multimedia Thread

Re: The Media Topic (inc. The DM Project) Think that may of been Corkie. I have a couple of Corkscrew announcements somewhere living around. As far as I know Rita's breakdown announcement during the Queen of Speed years matched the rest of the announcements for the ride. Vividly remember...

    Rides that never were

The broom stick coaster was thrown into doubt I think due to the location and how pats of the ride strayed close to listed areas of the garden. I seem to remember the general consensus being that it was a possible alternative to Rita, or possibly a "decoy" to throw people of the scent. Like...

    Rides that never were

Ok so most people here have previously discussed the aborted SW1 and SW2, but I thought it was about time we discussed some of the lesser attractions that failed to become reality. I'm pretty sure we have already had a topic on the Schwarzkopf multi lift hill coaster that was abandoned so I...

What rides turn your trousers brown?

For me it has to be Oblivion. Even to this day that ride still gives me that funny feeling in my stomach. Even looking at it makes me feel uneasy. It was the last ride at Tower that I conquered, I managed to put it off right up until 2006!!

    Quick Questions 2012

Apparently it was broadcast on the 1st November. It was mentioned at the fireworks meet

Wouldnt It be Great if Alton Towers Issued a Monthly Magazine who agrees???

In this day and age I can't see them ever producing a magazine, not when they can easily get the same news and information across to the public by means of social media. Much more cost effective and more likely to be seen by a much larger group of people.

    Earliest Towers Memories

I remember the caterpillar coaster will! Seem to remember it was situated roughly near to where the twirling toad stool is today. I also remember going in around the world in 80 days and being a bit freaked out by it for some reason! This trip must of been around 1993 as I remember Katanga...

TST Alton Towers Awards 2012: Your Ideas!

How about an award for the ride that has shown the most deterioration over the season? Or more seriously. - Best Ents character (general). - Best Ents character (scarefest) - most improved attraction - award for outstanding contribution to the resort

    Long term development plan

There is a mention of the relocation of the main entrance and how it would allow for the development of towers street and admin offices.

    Long term development plan

This bit caught my eye. in the heavy investment section on page 26 not only does it seem the resort isn't opposed to the idea of a BUDGET hotel but also seems they havent given up hope on some sort of relief road to and from the park either! both concepts that have long been thought of as of...

    Extrordinary Golf: What Should Happen?

I'm really in two minds with what should be done with the golf. No one hand it would be great to see it updated and kept fresh, but on the others quite like the little bit of history that is preserved within the golf course! I like how you can visit there for a quick game and still hear (in...

    Talbot Street Tuesday/Thursday (Picture Heavy)

Re: Talbot Street Tuesday (Picture Heavy) When you see the area today it's hard to imagine that it was crafted from scratch out of a carpark! It just all looks so natural! It's hard to imagine Katanga canyon could fit in that space in the middle of the rapids! One question though did the...

Will you visit Alton Towers in the closed season?

I'm sure I will visit at some point in the closed season. Wether it be to visit the spa or water park. Or maybe even festive weekend! Still plenty to do there for a day without the theme park open!
