Hex [2024 Refurb]: General Discussion
I distinctly remember the water drop effect around 2003 and 4. Reading that article, interesting the Tussauds estimated the ride would be removed around 2014, was this because that design life of the madhouse would have ended around then, given the expected usage of it? Or just a number pulled...- DistortAMG

Hex [2024 Refurb]: General Discussion
When I last went on Hex, the relatively long waits for the shows to start.in each of the preshows, killed all pacing the ride had.- DistortAMG

The Generative AI Thread
The fascinating thing here, for me, is reading the arguments put forward for and against AI. Parallels can be drawn between these arguments and those at the very start of the Industrial Revolution—specifically around steam engines. These machines were the literal driving force and the technology...- DistortAMG

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
I mean, the queueline of the ride itself, heavily implies that you do not return. Which in itself, implies you are killed or at least removed from the earth. So not sure what the issue is. We all know it not to be true, but that hasn't stopped Alton Towers themselves, implying that line since...- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
The crappy extension for the function room, does out the back yes! Not a true native flat roofed pub however, as found in other areas of Tamworth. I guess it cannot be classed as the finest of examples after all.- DistortAMG

More than likely, at the Fazely Vic, a council estate pub at it's finest.- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
At Drayton Manor they do not call them technical services. Us Brummies / Tammies are not posh enough for this. Mechanic will do. 😅 You are probably right, in the pub.- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
This is nothing new, no idea why people are acting shocked on the responses. They have done this since the ride opened. Any maintenance work on the lift mechanicals means they need to corden the area underneath off, you wouldn't want a nut, bolt or engineers tool falling on to someone, even...- DistortAMG

They used to be merged into one another. I can remember doing Terror Of The Towers many times on firework nights at the park, back in the early 2000's.- DistortAMG

I dont buy that as the root cause. B&Ms dive machines are taller, wider and much heavier relative to the track than a Euro Fighter. They are very smooth.- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
It was not an opinion it was a widely known fact. After the accident where a train slipped backwards off the lifthill, the ride would shut at the first hint of precipitation This remained the case for at least a season afterwards. Good to hear it is back to running normally now though. Edit...- DistortAMG

Anyone that is into the history of CWOA, I highly recommend checking this page out on Facebook. It is not my page but it has amazing photos from the very early days of when the place was just a zoo with funfair, with construction photos of things like Dragon River, the Mine Train and The Fifth...- DistortAMG
