How did TowersStreet begin?
It is going back some years that is, I signed up to ATA and TTF way back in 2002, or 3, as Doopy Dan, how time flies eh! I remember signing up to here under a different name pretty much the week the place switched over, never used that account, forgot the details and then ended up with the...- DistortAMG

To be fair, the impracticalities of digging down in that area can be seen with both the Nemesis pit and the old Thunder looper / Blade pit.....rock, rock and more rock.- DistortAMG

Very true, what would that be? 2 seasons without anything major when we get to 2027? We are quite early into the season I guess, so we wouldn't necessarily see anything yet construction wise for next year - I also do not think they got the immediate return they expected from Gold Rush, this is...- DistortAMG

Of course it is difficult to know, but being in the middle of Staffordshire close to another major theme park and a whole host of other substantial visitor attractions, I think they will need to invest sooner than later, due to the sheer amount of things in close proximity competing for peoples...- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
IIRC, the Excalibur lake is regularly emptied most closed seasons, it is filled by the stream that runs through the lake but is invisible when the lake is up to lake level. It would not surprise me if they are planning to remove the scenery though, most of it is in a really bad state now after...- DistortAMG

Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
In defence of Alton and Intamin, their river rapids are not made up of some jerry rigged components from a company not experienced in water rides, like the rapids ride was in Dreamland. There is a reason why this type of accident has never happened on an Intamin river rapids ride. I have never...- DistortAMG

I am not so sure that was the reason, I am sure the floorless version is more compact than the non floorless model. A quick look on the Huss website indeed confirms this is the case. It states that the classic model, aka Ripsaw, has a footprint of 22 x 11.5m. Whilst the suspended model, aka...- DistortAMG

Favorite video games..
Has anyone given Crimson Desert a go yet? I am still getting to grips with the sheer scale of the game, it is safe to say that this is the first game released since Red Dead Redemption 2, that has been as ambitious in scale and scope, not just as ambitious, but far exceeding it. Every game...- DistortAMG

It was SBNO for the 2002 season, a demolished empty space for 2003 with the steel frame works for the current indoor soft play going up for 2004.- DistortAMG

I mean, the park do currently run other rides where clean water is a must. Filtering the water really is not that difficult of a thing to do, even the most un trained of people would struggle to get it wrong in this specific setting. On the flip side, getting those fountains that they have, to...- DistortAMG

I agree, but in this setting, around a forested area with the potential for lots of flotsam and foreign objects going into the water from all the trees, the chosen fountain type was probably not the best design choice for reliability and ease of maintenance. Besides, the ride causes a fair bit...- DistortAMG

Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
The metal work has an even longer service life than the wood, decades not years. While these works do not indicate the ride is staying forever, it does in my view, indicate that they have no plans in the immediate future to remove the ride, as the works being carried out are fairly substantial...- DistortAMG

Just a quick note in regards to the fountains, as I saw Towers Street posted on Facebook in regards to if they would be working or not this season. From an engineering perspective, why oh why did they over complicate the whole thing completely, by installing individual pump fountains? Each one...- DistortAMG

Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
They are replacing the lift hill wooden slats, these can last anywhere between 5 and 10 years depending on a few factors if I remember correctly. They are made of very durable timber and the work that appears to be going on, is not the type of work that is done every single closed season. These...- DistortAMG

Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
Seeing as CRR is having pretty substantial work to it's lift and station this closed season, the work currently on going on suggests they do plan to keep the ride for the immediate future. You would not spent huge sums on two of the three most crucial bits of infrastructure the ride has, if you...- DistortAMG

Ride/Park Accidents
Going back to the 'potential' 1993 Splash Canyon accident, I am pretty certain this never happened. There was also zero mentions of this accident in the HSE reports following the 2017 fatality, something that almost certainly would be mentioned, had it been true. This evidence (or lack of) in...- DistortAMG
