2026: General Discussion
Because why would they use tours of their heritage assets, when they could charge you a fortune to walk up a wooden or metal staircase. Okay being serious, I imagine the take-up on the garden and towers walks were low, but they were poorly advertised. If I were them I would offer them more, and...- JAperson

Oblivion: General Discussion
Probably not that either, as surely it would becoming from Switzerland? Also surely they would have done the tunnel works over the closed season as they planned to have this open, just doesn't make sense either.- JAperson

Themed uniforms across resort
I think this is a really valid point that I do agree with. Staff need to be visible and not every visitor to Towers is going to be fully sighted. Towers is already very difficult and tiring for visually impaired people to navigate (dark stations, odd lighting, uneven paths the list goes on)...- JAperson

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
I was mostly joking and in a way you are sort of right. But, and it's a bit but, its money grabbing, considering they used to give early ride time to certain guests anyway, and guest experience/value for money of the ticket used to be a big focus for Merlin/Tussaurds, it just stinks to customers...- JAperson

Pleasurewood Hills
Considering they've put the planning applications for rides in like two weeks before they open I don't think they've had a lot of time if I'm honest.- JAperson

Oblivion: General Discussion
It's been closed for like a week, and they are working on it. I don't think you need to be worried just yet. Eventually maybe, depending what they feel the long term future of the ride is, but I'm guessing it'll be safe for a good few years yet. Obviously, we have no idea what kind of scale of...- JAperson

In The Hall Of The Mountain King
I would also add it really suits the grand setting of the Towers well, so really does encompass the park well in adverts.- JAperson

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved
All projects have to be approved multiple times by Merlin's board, which used to be headed by Varney as CEO I imagine, with the amount of money MMM are spending it will still have to be approved by Merlin's board now headed by CEO Fiona Eastwood. I have no idea how the make up of this board...- JAperson

In The Hall Of The Mountain King
I suppose it could also have been a very rush job with the money focused on the huge investments they were going to make into the park, as opposed to a general theme tune. Can imagine it needing to be decided pretty quick with no real time to compose music (I imagine its a much longer process...- JAperson

Pleasurewood Hills
They have either been told it's for sure going to get granted or they are just going to do it and hope they get retrospective permission. I did think they submitted it quite late, and doing things without permission is not necessarily a good way for the new owners to keep locals on side.- JAperson

Everything gets reported on our local 'spotted' page, so definitely not. Literally everything from Mary's Fiat Panda had an inappropriate drawing on it to Mike's bike being nicked and then returned three days later. However none of them beat me person favourite 'just had this picture from a...- JAperson

Pet Hates
Very minor pet hate here, and I understand the reasons for it but Job listings closing much earlier than the listed 'apply by' date. I understand why companies/organisations would want to close a job early, and I don't begrudge them from doing that, but just a few days after something is posted...- JAperson

Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion
This thread talks about this, but basically it's a TS in-joke I imagine with the high turnover of ride hosts it's mostly done based on being allocated areas, in which staff will be trained on a couple of rides. While operators, I would imagine, stay with rides longer, due to the ore advanced...- JAperson

Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion
Probably a combination, want your shift to finish plus lighten up your day with a bit of fun. Honestly, it's what I would do, and as long as they are following all safety advice, which I don't doubt they were, then it will also keep management on side. Nemesis does have a history of being well...- JAperson

I'm assuming its more just to make life more interesting in the role. I know some Aldi's staff have competitions for who can have the fastest shopping scan average over a week and stuff.- JAperson
