Chessington World of Adventures Resort
We run trains, planes, cars and everything in between in what could be considered far worse hazardous conditions, granted, the reasons are more out of nessesity than for leisure, but the fact remains we (as humans) regularly run, much more hazardous machines in far more hazardous conditions...- DistortAMG

I dont think it is impressive. It is the normal, expected. Standard operation. The UK has just erroroded our expectations down so much however.- DistortAMG

TV Alerts Thread (Theme Parks)
Not a TV show per say, but the British YouTube channel, The Rest Is History recently had a tour of the Walt Disney Studios, Walts Office complex and exclusive after hours access to Disneyland riding the rides and attractions with non other than the man himself, Bob Iger A great watch, all from...- DistortAMG

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
I cannot see the fact they are opening at 11am being a problem. Removing the free entry completely killed off any impulse entry passing trade, most if not all people visiting now pre book, meaning if they are going to visit, they are going to visit, regardless of the park opening an hour later...- DistortAMG

Oh yeah, that's quite a substantial upgrade in the performance department on both the GPU and CPU, you should see a big difference in almost everything you do on the system. For video editing and gaming alike. The 50 series including the 5070, is the first generation from Nvidia to support...- DistortAMG

[2026] Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
Plenty of space all over the park. They can re route paths and remove buildings to create space. They do not need to work within the confinements they have created themselves with years worth of infrastructure. They can just rip it up and start again for better or for worse, Rita is a good...- DistortAMG

I totally forgot about that 😅. What a time to be alive. Forgot your McDonald's and Pizza Hut. It is all about the Pot Noodle!- DistortAMG

Planet Coaster 2: General Discussion
Thats a very solid system. I was running the 5700x with a 3070 and it was solid. It is about as fast as you can go on the AM4 platform. You can go faster with the 3d cache chips, but the price to performance is way off compared to a 5700x. If gaming is your thing, Xbox Series and PS5 are built...- DistortAMG

What year has Alton been at its best
Not at all no, Alton Towers in the 1990's had risen to be a worldwide renown icon of rollercoaster innovation. It was arguably at the top of it's niche game that it was playing. That year, 2002, we got air, further fuelling this momentum within the general public and enthusiast perception alike...- DistortAMG

Planet Coaster 2: General Discussion
It is not GPU's pushing prices, it is DRAM. RAM has tripled in value in the past 2 or 3 weeks. As AI data centres gobble up HUGE quantities of the stuff, alongside a whole third of the consumer markets supply being indefinitely cut off, as Micron, one of the worlds largest consumer suppliers...- DistortAMG

Planet Coaster 2: General Discussion
My computer died around the summer, I have not replaced it. I did however, for many reasons, the now delayed GTA VI being one of them, go and purchase a PS5 Pro not long ago. I have not yet purchased PC2 for it, but there is a 2 hour demo on PS Plus which have given that a whirl, it was nice to...- DistortAMG

Which ‘worst’ era of Alton Towers do you think is better than the other?
The tent and ride were separate. They were not structurally linked at all. This is why there are photos of the ride without the tent and then at the end, the tent without the ride. I *think* they may have had some sort of plans to re use the tent after Black Hole, so the ride was removed within...- DistortAMG

What year has Alton been at its best
Personally, a few years after the end of the Persons Tussauds era, just before the changes at the top caused noticeable changes on the ground. So 2002 / 2003 ish. The park had a large entertainment line up including shows in the big top, and Cred Street, the big selection of rides gave the park...- DistortAMG

Which ‘worst’ era of Alton Towers do you think is better than the other?
Going back and jogging my memory, I am sure they needed to provide evacuation platforms at points on the lift which did not revolve round the guests walking down the spiral stairs as they had done for many years. The original escape method was deemed too long of an escape to walk down the spiral...- DistortAMG

Oblivion: General Discussion
Have a look at both drops side by side, excuse my crude photo shop. You could move it gently onto the vertical drop section yes, but what they did in the case of hyper is make the radius much, much bigger. See the photos below for a rough mock up of the radius curve on both rides, as you can...- DistortAMG

Oblivion: General Discussion
To go back to this as I have only just seen it. The angle it changes and more specifically the radius of that angle is very tight on Oblivion, to specifically take you from horizontal to vertical in a tiny amount of space. Even today in 2025, you could not have a long train on track like...- DistortAMG

[2026] Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
I would argue that we pioneered innovative ride hardware more than we pioneered the 'theme park', which was in essence just copying what the USA had done 3 decades earlier, but adapted for the UK market. The ride hardware that we helped pioneer in partnership with Europe, was not specific to the...- DistortAMG

Fireworks 2025
The location that for 35 plus years they have been launching multiple shows per year from, without any major incident, would say otherwise. They themselves are professionals, as are the companies they hire. They know very well what they are doing.- DistortAMG
