Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
It was not an opinion it was a widely known fact. After the accident where a train slipped backwards off the lifthill, the ride would shut at the first hint of precipitation This remained the case for at least a season afterwards. Good to hear it is back to running normally now though. Edit...- DistortAMG

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
Anyone that is into the history of CWOA, I highly recommend checking this page out on Facebook. It is not my page but it has amazing photos from the very early days of when the place was just a zoo with funfair, with construction photos of things like Dragon River, the Mine Train and The Fifth...- DistortAMG

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
Going back to the boat ride testing for a moment, Disney must have their reasons for needing to test what they need to test, on site. WDI is arguably up there with the very best in ride manufacturers on the planet. While they may not build all the physical hardware themselves, they very much...- DistortAMG

Is Alton Towers too cheap?
There are some good points put across in this discussion to be fair. Got me thinking. In one way, as is, Alton Towers is worth the money for what they offer. If they could sort out their opening hours, availability and food, I would say it would be too cheap, for sure. If the themepark was...- DistortAMG

Is Alton Towers too cheap?
No.. the park has been in a steady and consistent decline for the last 2 decades, yet the gate price has risen. Therefor, it is pretty clear that an increase in gate prices would be just that, an increase in gate price. The park would probably not improve because of that.- DistortAMG

Future Flat Ride Speculation
This one I disagree with. Because the theming, story and scenes are specifically what make the ride. The ride would not be anything like it is now if it was just the transit system going through a bare / empty warehouse. Just like how Disney's Pirates would not be the same ride if there was no...- DistortAMG

Future Flat Ride Speculation
I guess so yeah. But I was marketed heavily and marketed as a new thrill experience. It is a difficult one to be fair, but you are sort of correct.- DistortAMG

Future Flat Ride Speculation
Since 2023, we have had the following additions for specific demographics; 2023 - Family addition with TCAAM. 2024 - Thrill addition with Nemesis Reborn. 2025 - Thrill addition with Toxicator. 2026 - Young children's addition with this CBeebies themed coaster. Given the above, I would be...- DistortAMG

1984 Accident?
Here is the safety bulletin issued after the accident. Issued by MACK rides. Going in to the exact details of what parks and operators of the model need to inspect on the rides immediately, to ensure a similar accident does not repeat itself, or is close to repeating itself on another operating...- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
Going back to this a second, with Alton Towers, they used to turn all four pumps on to bring the water level up quickly, I have seen them do the same at Drayton's too. Once the water level is up, roughly after 4 or 5 mins, one pump is turned off. So for maybe 5 minutes, these old Intamin rapids...- DistortAMG

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
The best known to man, although I am not sure on the recent change from mayonnaise and salsa to supercharger sauce. Still a decent burger, but it was a downgrade for sure. Would love to see these back at towers, it will never happen though.- DistortAMG

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
I used to love a succulent Zinger Tower Burger, followed by a Dairy Milk McFlurry whilst enjoying the views on Skyride. The branded outlets were peak catering at the park I think, you generally knew what you were getting, at high street prices. Sure, it was fast food, but for the most time...- DistortAMG

Future Flat Ride Speculation
A waste how exactly? What exactly is the waste? There could be a lead time of a few years on the other attractions for all we know. Generally there is with rides.- DistortAMG

2025: General Discussion
Fair points made here however... I have never once stated that I thought this request was reasonable or that it is reasonable to accommodate it. So why is that being assumed? I have mearly said I will request it, I mean, while it is unreasonable to assume they could reasonably accommodate...- DistortAMG

2025: General Discussion
I really, really want a go on Nemesis, front row. My 11 year old son, who's favourite coaster as of last month is also Nemesis, needs to experience it too. One of the best rides to ride front row. I have always thought the front row on that ride is massively better than any other row on what is...- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
Yeah, they were very problematic for a long time. They were plagued with issues. Here are a few of many safety bulletins issued by ADIPS for the ride model. https://adips.co.uk/technical-bulletins-library-dir/303-Pinfari-ZL-42-Shoulder-Restraint.pdf...- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
Klondike was a different coaster, I don't think it was the Python, even though they were basically identical. The story is quite interesting actually. Pinfari had a huge amount of metal fatigue issues with the early ZL42 ride models and Python was number 2 off the production line. Everything...- DistortAMG

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
It makes sense, as it could be potentially bankrupting for a company to manufacture a multi million pound piece of machinery for it then not to be purchased, it has happened in the past. So I can see why companies would want such securities.- DistortAMG

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
This is the official specification sheet I have for the pumps on River Rapids at Drayton Manor. They are almost identical in specification to the pumps on Alton's Congo River Rapids, I would expect they are the same for Thorpes Rapids too. Seeing as all three have very similar flow rates...- DistortAMG

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
Well, it seems to have partly been written by the Tussauds Group in the early 1990's to be fair. I joke of course. To be fair, I am looking forward to trying this, regardless of the marketing. I have never ridden a giant topspin, so this excites me somewhat.- DistortAMG
