As a big fan of the Black Hole, please lord say it's gone. Or at least playing a quieter ambiant track rather than a random MP3 download from Towers Times.is that awful 'black hole nostalgia' speaker still blasting out though?

I think the portions of the track with the announcements etc are fine but having the up-beat Oblivion and Black Hole music playing just undermines the oppressiveness of the drop. Nerd rant over.

I agree. Rather than the bigger effect it has in the station (with a proper sound system), the Oblivion music on top of Rehydrator sounds like somebody playing bedroom-produced D&B on their patio.
Maybe it sounded a bit dead before, but playing music around the drop wasn't the best choice. Alton Towers fans only like it because 'its the Oblivion' music, rather than because it sounds good or has any effect in that location.
I really think the ambiant track from Oblivion's queue would be a much better background touch if anything was going to go there. The best sound in that area will always be the drop!
I just remembered the Black Hole music did actually go from there, it now only plays around Enterprise, which isn't half as bad

The Oblivion music has always been crap. Sounds like something out of Crash Bandicoot.

Last season it only played the Oblivion music and not the mix of Blackhole and Oblivion which it played the year before.
Nice to see the unit re open, that closed after The Smiler crash when they closed pretty much half of the food and drink places across the park.
Looks like it will be similar style to the one at Thorpe Park.

Park opens at 10 for main guests, so I would have thought 9:30 for ERT.Could someone take note of what time the front gates open for ERT tomorrow? Just want to know what sort of time to get there on Sunday. Thanks

ERT rides open at 9:30 but they usually open the gates quite a bit earlier than that.Park opens at 10 for main guests, so I would have thought 9:30 for ERT.

Has anyone seen the opening ceremony that Alton Towers broadcasted live on their Facebook page just now? Such a nice thing to do; seems like a trend that's coming to the UK, what with BPB doing it in February and Alton doing it today!
They are still running with Ian Crabbe’s survey results...

The SRQ is in operation (I've used it), but they have not put any signage up for it. Just ask the entrance host.Apparently there’s no SRQ on smiler today, I’m confused.
