Fastrack demand is largely generated by queue length. Why pay £6 for Nemesis FT when the queue is only 15 minutes? But doesn't Fastrack demand also add to popularity, in a sense?

You only have to get in the Wicker Man queue at the end of a busy day to see how much quicker you start to move through the queue once they have cleared fast track and disabled.
It's crazy to think that a coaster that's 26 years old this coming season is still arguably the best coaster in the UK.
A lot of people said Icon had topped it when it first opened but I see opinions already started to change on that now the hype had died down. Nemmy is simply incredible how it's kept that number 1 status so long. Only an RMC can knock it off it's top spot now for me. They've tried mostly everything else and still haven't beat it.
It's 2020 and people are talking about the potential demise of nemesis already. It won't be going anyway until at least 2030 I'd say
However given the engineering on B&M coasters compared to others, they are solid. Blackpool is replacing track on the big one, whereas nemesis is riding along just fine still after all of these years.
Nemesis is not going anywhere. There's nothing you can put in it's place that could beat it. If it costs another say, £10 million to re-track and upgrade the trains, it's a worthy investment all round for the park if it continues it's upgrade and expansion elsewhere.
It opened at the perfect time in 1994. I do wonder if it was built today (not re tracked like for like) would it still be as intense. Similar layout but twigged abit due to advances in technology in stress on tracks/footers calculations- along with awful padded restrains like on Swarm.
I love everything about this classic. They just created a perfect ride & John Wardley was right when he asked Walter Bolliger on Nemesis’ opening day “How do we top this?”
Given that most stand-up coasters are painfully rough (especially thinking about TOGO) and there hasn't been a new one since the 90s, I doubt that concept would have lasted long. When designing a new roller coaster you try to look at several possibilities including ones which might sound cool but in practice aren't as good as as they sound.I would love to have seen the stand up designed for the smiler site, given how compact that site is I feel this would have been some coaster
JW & WB never did top this in my view. Oblivion at the time came close, but essentially is a one trick pony now compared to other dice machines. AIR ‘could’ have been that ride, I think, if original plans were implemented.

Isn't Walter Bolliger on record somewhere (or John is quoting Walter) saying that he sees Nemesis as one of B&M's best if not the best inverted coaster they've ever made?It opened at the perfect time in 1994. The stand-up was designed for Katanga Canyon.
Stand-ups are almost universally crap, so I'm glad that idea was scrapped.

I didn't say that he said it was his favourite, but the best the company had made. I suspect if he said it, it was very soon after Nemesis was built so it may not even be a valid statement anymore with the likes of newer inverts such as Black Mamba at PhantasialandWalter Bolliger (or indeed any B&M staff member) will never say on record what their favourite ride is. To do so would risk offending their customers by suggesting one of their rides is better than another, quite possibly at a competitors park.
I have met Walter Bolliger several times at IAAPA & spoken with him at length about their rides. I did try to get a "which ride is best?" out of him and all I got was "they are all great rides". Perfect answer that risks zero offence to any customer.
I dont think park managements care about their rides that personally to get offended by some comment, it's more that it's a pointless question which he thinks is 'better' or not.Walter Bolliger (or indeed any B&M staff member) will never say on record what their favourite ride is. It's like asking someone (who probably doesnt have much personal attachment to the coasters he's built either) which of their own coasters is good or bad. He's trying to sell coasters, of course he's gonna tell you that theyre all good!
That's because he suggested his own product was rubbish, which is what I was saying is the only reason B&M wouldnt state Nemesis/whatever hasnt been beaten, because it would suggest they're no good since. Nothing to do with offending parks, just promotion. You only gave to look back what happened when Gerald Ratner made that infamous off-the-cuff comment about the quality of the products he sold. The customers were offended and Ratners disappeared.
