[2025] Europa-Park General Discussion

I've never heard of this vlogger until now and I wish I heard of him sooner because I 100% would've watched one of his videos at lunch instead of Brickey's sad Rivers of America video

The park's English FB page posted about the 50th Anniversary parade inclusion of a Heinrich Mack-built golden circus carriage. Thank goodness they haven't changed the Ed and Edda heads on the 50th Anniversary costumes... yet. I have hope yet of getting a photo with alt-Edda during my August trip.

Also, I for one admire Roland's choice of outfit colours. It gives me burgeoning Michael Portillo wardrobe VIBES.

Its the human teeth.

Luckily little one met non-creepy Edda this weekend past.

Must say that the RAP equivalent was very good. Majority of rides had a non-step access of some description, with Wodan and Euro-Mir being the main thrill ride offenders (didn't use it on the water rides or Bobsleigh though). Riding Eurosat with the VR guests without VR was interesting as a result. You can get the park card in the hotels rather than on park but can only get it from the same place. However Access Cards are just accepted which is novel.

Still a wonderful park with a bit of lacking in the food department. Need to have some more food options in the bars beyond Bell Rock as don't always want expensive buffet or a proper sit down meal. Though certainly some more options have opened in recent years for sure on park. However finding food at 7pm on Sunday with the park still open for 30 minutes was very difficult.

In terms of new stuff for me, Alpenexpress feels weird but the adventure trail seemed fun. Piraten & Snorri Touren are lovely dark rides at opposite ends of the scale. Volaterium is weirdly edited and the film advert at the end was awkward, great ride system. EDventure is crap with a good ride system. Ireland area is cute (the indoor play area goes on forever though).

Little one really enjoyed the rides she could go on. Lost count of how many times Baaaaaa Express was ridden. Shame a few things are a metre but never mind as reason to go back.

Euro-Mir is the odd one out these days and certainly has to be next on the block. However due to Voltron I can't see an Xtreme Spinner working well, so maybe an update to the regular Spinning coaster with a better layout would be an option. Or bin it all and start again.

Still one of the best parks in the world. And still very close if I prefer it over Efteling. They're very different styles of park.

Agree with nearly all this. The cheap/quick food issue at the hotels is a problem. A couple of recommendations are Pizzeria Romantica, which is the cheapest the restaurants, and there is also intermittently snack food available in Bar Colosseo and El Circo. Failing that, there is a newly installed pizza vending machine on the path from Bell Rock to the park and the food hut further along that path, facing the Chinese buffet, has recently been renovated and seems to be opening later than before its conversion. You can get reasonable quality fast food type meals from there, with prices similar to the quick services in the park.

As for the park F&B outlets closing early, again I agree. The outlets which usually stay open until/after close are the pizza place in Italy, the Biergarten and both the Rock Cafe and adjacent burger stand.

I second this, it's called the Food Garden and I had a nice burger from there back in May. Just be sure to check the opening times before you go as they're not open every day, and bear in mind that the seating is all outside.

New Wild Horse Bar in Silver Lake City does burgers. Leave via main entrance and if you need to get back to one of the on site hotels you can either get monorail back or if too late the Rust Bus also gets you there quick

Some cool events this weekend. Including guys jumping out of the blimp and landing in the park and Jurgen Klopp talking about Silver Star.

Today (July 12th) is the actual day as well...

Happy 50th birthday to Europa Park! 🎂

The day was excellent. Highlights included the ever-brilliant ragtime band playing a concert in front of Can Can, the silent disco, the atmosphere generally and especially Ed’s failed flight into space.

It would have been nice to have some maps available in English for the day (indeed the English maps were scant throughout the week), and the program generally was a little unclear in places, with the app showing different things to the website. The Eatrenalin takeover of Magellan was also a mild disaster, with a massive wait to get in followed by extraordinarily bad service - not a great advert for the experience. They were at least offering discounted dinners.

Queue times were very reasonable for a sell-out day, even for some of the F&B places. The fireworks setup across the park, rather than in one location was clearly a reaction to crowd control issues, although it was arguably a slight anticlimax to such a big birthday.

Overall though it has to be said it was a fantastic day and night.

An Eatrenalin takeover of Magellan Lounge? What an... interesting choice of venue.

Missed opportunity with Eatrenalin x EDventure where you trundle round the Gameplay Theatre whilst Ed flings burger and chips onto your lap and fluffy new Edda threatens you to eat up and get out.

Sounds like a massive improvement.

In a somewhat similar vein to the cheaper food options, does anyone know what the general feeling is of an adult ordering a 'children's meal'? In the self-service style restaurants they wouldn't necessarily know, but elsewhere it would be quite obvious. Not only are they significantly cheaper, sometimes you don't want a large meal and would be happy with something much smaller/simpler.

The kids meals are pretty much the same bloody size as the adult ones.

Plus a cool toy.

Own it.
Ha! Thanks, that's what I thought. I don't really need or want an all singing and dancing burger, especially when I could get something much simpler (plus normally chips and a drink) for less than half the price. Hell, after the hotel breakfast buffet I can still be full at dinner time!

I've sometimes ordered an 'appetiser' in Europa Park resort restaurants when I've only wanted a light meal, or if there's nothing in the 'mains' section that meets my dietary needs (or if I'm feeling particularly broke!). Generally it's not an issue and they bring the food at the same time as other mains that have been ordered. So that could be an option.

I was reading a menu from one of the food outlets on park (Don Quichote's?) and it said something along the lines of "smaller plates for children (or for anyone else!)" (I don't remember the exact wording and my German isn't great but it was along those lines).

But also, I guarantee that the waiter won't care.

You’ll also find that in places like Spirit of St Louis they’ll bring you two plates with your meal if you want to split it. The club sandwich there for instance is pretty big and so can amply suffice for two adults if you’re not ravenous.
