[2025] Europa-Park General Discussion

Yeah the downstairs is always open I think, but upstairs seemed shut last season, or if it was open it was just to sit and not the actual bar. Seems to be open for weekends only at the moment. Maybe that will change in the summer.

Does anyone know when the Magellan bar might be open from?

It’s been closed since the start of Covid and to the best of my knowledge has sadly not yet reopened. Before that it would open in the afternoon on weekends and holidays.
There is a slow trend of the bars starting to reopen, for example Bodega is now up and running. However there’s still a bit to go and I get the feeling Magellan might be one of the last.

OMG how amazing is the personalised 'preparations for your arrival' emailed video?? I might have teared up a little bit
) It's the simple things! Europa's marketing team are worth every penny!

I showed this to my work colleagues before my trip last week - they couldn't believe it!OMG how amazing is the personalised 'preparations for your arrival' emailed video?? I might have teared up a little bit) It's the simple things! Europa's marketing team are worth every penny!
After a 4 year break (my last visit was December 2018), I have to say the park was as magical as ever. Everything was spotless, operations were fantastic, and it felt like being home. All Covid restrictions have been removed (they were chipping off the social distancing markers all around the park and within Rulantica) and yet for the most part guests remain generally respectful of personal space. I will admit I was lucky enough to visit on quiet days mid-week!
To anyone visiting this year... feel the love. It's such a special place!

Imagine EP as your home park and popping to BPB if you were over here. You'd have quality whiplash.
See I don’t think you would, i am not in anyway saying Blackpool is quality but if you had never experienced a large amusement park they have a vibe that will probably intrigue.
You would say “well it’s not EP” but you would find it interesting.

I wouldn't want to have EP as a home park as I believe you can absolutely have too much of a good thing. It is my favourite place, and park, in the world and being there for 5 nights in April, I loved it as much as any other of my 8 previous visits, but I left feeling content with my time there. I didn't get home on the last day and immediately want to return, and I was happy enough knowing I am highly unlikely to go back again this year. You would start to see more cracks if you were there week-in week-out, I'm sure.
Yes, it's certainly a lovely place to chill, have food and drink and do rides, the former more-so than any park we have in the UK, however I think I'd find myself not doing half the rides very much that I always set out to do on a visit (Elfenfahrt, Oldtimers, etc etc). It's an interesting one, but I'm very happy with it being a magical holiday destination I frequent only every so often.

No they didn't, which in my opinion is a travesty. I love those videos!Did Europa-Park make an "every little thing new this year" video for 2022?

Out of interest, does Europa still do Single Rider lines? I only ask because when I was there, I noticed quite a few signs in certain queues indicating “single rider” queues, but I couldn’t find any way to enter such a queue at the ride entrances themselves. Is this something that Europa still offers, or is it something that they used to offer, but no longer do?

I believe for most, if not all, single rider queues are being used for Virtual Queue. I know Blue Fire, CanCan and Arthur certainly do, unsure about the rest. There were never that many rides with SRQ anyway.Out of interest, does Europa still do Single Rider lines? Is VQ something that Europa are intending to pursue long-term, or will it be phased out when COVID becomes less of a thing in Europe?I believe for most, if not all, single rider queues are being used for Virtual Queue. Not complaining if it does; I didn’t notice it having any strong impact on wait times, and I was fine with waiting in the standby lines as opposed to an SRQ. I’m guessing SRQs were mainly present on thrill rides? I can’t imagine that more family orientated stuff had much of a demand for an SRQ.
