2025: General Discussion

It's worth noting that only the pass holder can use the Galactica Gate, even if your group have the discounted bring a friend tickets.

Only passholders, and only specifically Platinum passholders too - so if you're visiting with friends on Gold passes, I guess you'll see them in about 40mins.

Next up, Aramark outlets will be asking who will be consuming the fries you just purchased, to ensure that non-passholders aren't making use of your exclusive discount, and from 2026 non-passholders travelling in a vehicle with passholders will have to pay their portion of the parking fees, £2.40 per non-passholder in a standard 5 seater.

That’s quite a bit of mental gymnastics to reach that point.

It’s a previously unavailable incentive that’s added in addition to the existing incentives. Nobody’s trying to take your parking from you, or anything else for that matter.

I actually think it's fair enough to poke fun at this. It seems like a great perk until you look at all the T&C's and exceptions.
  • No one in your party that doesn't also have a platinum pass will be admitted.
  • No one you have used your pass to book a Friends & Family / Share the Fun ticket for will be admitted.
  • Not valid on Fireworks weekend.
I can't imagine there are that many groups where every single member of the group is a Platinum passholder. Except possibly Fireworks weekend.

I really, really want a go on Nemesis, front row. My 11 year old son, who's favourite coaster as of last month is also Nemesis, needs to experience it too. One of the best rides to ride front row.

I have always thought the front row on that ride is massively better than any other row on what is already a great coaster.

I will play a little game with Merlin, lets see how they score. I am going to turn up with my son at somepoint between now and the end of October, request the front row on Nemmy and see how they / the host responds.

I know this is something that is not generally accommodated, but lets see how they respond, given the fact I wajt someone who has just got into coasters, to experience one of the best.

If they do well, Merlin will sell two platinum passes for me and my son on the spot. Alongside god knows how much thousands of pounds worth of F&B over the proceeding 12 months.

if they act rubbish, we will visit once next year, on the 85% discounted work tickets I can get, with a packed lunch on my back. Then the money that would have gone to Merlin, will go to visits to the European parks. Let the games begin...

Unless there’s a front row queue I don’t think you can reasonably expect this request to be accommodated or criticise them for not doing so.

Everyone wants the same thing you’re asking for, why is your request more deserving?

And if they are seen to grant it then others will demand the same.

What a bizarre and meaningless idea...

Fair points made here however...

I have never once stated that I thought this request was reasonable or that it is reasonable to accommodate it. So why is that being assumed?

I have mearly said I will request it, I mean, while it is unreasonable to assume they could reasonably accommodate such a request. The request itself, is not really, in the grand scheme of things that unreasonable is it?

I am not asking Merlin for a million quid, ownership of one of their coasters or free F&B for a year. So based on that, it will be interesting to see how they respond.

What a bizarre and meaningless idea...

I mean, shall we really go down that rabbit hole?
