I don't think it's intended to be a particularly good disguise close up; the intention is that it blends in from a distance/among the treetops.lol its a tree but lets put a fence around it so you can tell its a mast!

Clearly, but could of made the fence fit in more too if they are aiming to blend it
I think the fact very few people on a fan forum even knew it existed suggests it’s not in a particularly noticeable place for elaborate concealment and themed fencing.

Again, it is supposed to blend from the tree tops at a distance, not the ground and close up.
LHAT have uploaded a video in which they are fairly confident that Project Horizon has now been canned.
It’s quite an informative video for those who don’t know the full story, and I am inclined to agree that this project will probably now never happen.
Interestingly, it seems LHAT is fairly certain that Project Horizon was never SW9, which caused much debate on this forum. Does this mean SW9 is still in the works or will we see 5 or more years of the park restoring what they have and adding in flats in the empty spaces, without a major addition?

I literally refuse to watch these videos - just a me thing. But intrigued as to what the summary of this is. Why do they think it wasn’t SW9 and why do they believe it is canned ?
The SW9/Project Horizon difference refers back to an interview the channel did with John Wardley where he alluded to the fact that the projects were different, however this opinion is subjective.I literally refuse to watch these videos - just a me thing. In terms of why the channel thinks it’s cancelled, it’s an accumulation of various discussions, rumours, lack of anything happening, Merlin’s current finances, and how the park seem to be focussing on bringing back what they already have, i.e refurbishing Duel into TCAAM, reopening NST, reinstating a top spin on Ripsaw’s old site, refurbishing Hex and Skyride, retracking Nemesis, and now more recently there are rumblings of the monorail having work done to it.
I guess they can’t do all the above whilst also investing £15m into a new headliner.

I don't really trust this guy he way over exaggerates about the state of Alton Towers it infuriating he creates this misinformation.

As so it’s just speculation not anything they’ve actually heard
I guess so yeah, based on an accumulation of events (or lack of!) and hearsay over the past couple of years. As so it’s just speculation not anything they’ve actually heard

Would be a shame to waste the planning permission though, given that getting it for that site is incredibly difficult due to the proximity to houses.

The Secret Weapon name was always being dropped.
Horizon was never referred to nor ever was supposed to be referred to as ‘SW9’.

As others have pointed out that channel doesn’t have a strong track record of accurate predictions.
It’s clear Horizon isn’t progressing at the moment, so it’s not exactly a hard leap to make to click bate an audience but complete cancellation will only be confirmed if Merlin let the planning permission lapse.
I also don’t buy Merlin’s finances as an excuse, the current losses are mostly an accounting adjustment. My guess has always been that Bianca and the new Merlin CEO want to sort out some of the foundations of the park before a big investment.

I would agree, the park has been in a bit of a state so I think they are fixing up many areas, so not focussing any expansions for a few reasons (universal, guest experience, etc)I also don’t buy Merlin’s finances as an excuse, the current losses are mostly an accounting adjustment. I actually think this year has made me think it may be more likely to happen, with rita being down more than it is up this year, they will need something to replace its capacity as I wouldn't be too surprised if they are looking at getting rid of it.
also the planning permission was to START construction, but not end it so they could delay construction for a while.
