[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

£12.5 million seems about right for this size attraction. Aluminium buildings are not that expensive in the grand scheme of things and the ride hardware for an indoor coaster won’t be that extensive as there is only so much you can fit in that space.

When you consider Exodus is £17.5 million and that’s a hyper coaster it seems fairly on the money, obviously when Towers market it they will say it cost £18 million as they add the marketing and 1st years operating budget to the numbers.

As for the look of the building, as already mentioned they don’t add the texture and theming to planning applications if they can avoid it, just the major structures (the wicker man giant structure was just a big rectanglular box on the planning application.

So without wanting to type this all out again here, I’m not convinced it’s a coaster. In fact I really think it’s a flying theatre. Just look at the giveaway three entrance doors, plus all the other little details:

Whilst I really want this to be an indoor coaster, I can’t work out how those 3 doors spaced out like that would help with batching. 3 flying theatres playing different shows perhaps? I hope not.

How is it that difficult to work out, just one possibility is the ride has a pre-show and to keep the throughputs moving they have three separate pre-show rooms.

Not rocket science.

Im going indoor water ride, with the zombies from Dual used (hence the revamp), there's a ton of underground work being done so the exit is via the Sub Terra building (hence the floor replacement) and you go round in the cars from Enterprise.

Thats the ONLY explanation guys!

But realistically id like it to be a new water ride, but I think its pretty doubtful

I see now! It looked to me like the 3 doors were into the main attraction itself, not a pre show. Forgot there was an indoor queue section 🙄

Why would they build three pre shows for one coaster, Wickerman only has one and that’s among the most popular rides they’ve ever built
There have been some problems with Wicker Man’s one pre-show; they take a while to fill it up, which means that the trains often wait for a bit before people fill them, and there also isn’t enough space afterwards for the amount of riders in there, which also delays proceedings. Having multiple pre-shows would solve that particular dilemma.

I just thought of a potentially logical explanation for the 3 doors that isn’t anything to do with pre-shows, however. Could they just be main queue, Fastrack and RAP? The 3 queues don’t look as though they merge prior to entering the building, therefore having a main queue door, a Fastrack door and an RAP door would make sense.

You know what's funny? I just thought the exact same thing...

If it was a flying theatre the 3 doors would surely be for the 3 rows?

Loads of reasons, the Wickerman pre-show is a big room, the aesthetic they may want is for a smaller room as the pre show so multiply them up to keep the flow.

It might also as others have said just be three separate doors for the three queues, I was just pointing out that having three doors doesn’t mean three flying theatres.

So are we expecting any further official details about this project or is it a wait and see until Towers announce?

Going to be a long 2 years of speculation if not.

I just feel like a lot of people here just want a coaster, whether or not the building design doesn’t really suggest a coaster - not to mention the name Project Horizon certainly suggests something to do with flight

I doubt that RAP would have a queue that long still. I'm sure RAP will potentially based around the exit walkway as its a lot shorter.
