Now kindly corrected with a Greylag courtesy of ChatGPTI find this deeply offensive... Everyone knows I'm a Greylag and not one of those Canada geese.

Totally agree, there is definitely something about geese at theme parks that's hilariousI know I've said it before, but I'll say it again... some of these really are absolute gold! I love this thread... there's something about these pictures of geese on roller coasters that's just so laugh-inducing!

Was testing out how Gemini for Android worked a month or so ago and prompted something like "draw a rollercoaster going through the interior of a classical country house" and it came up with this. Thought I may as well share it as it's apparently cost some electricity and water to produce it. Sorry eco people!

I might just write a python script that continuelsy asks GPT to draw photos, as fast as possible and leave it running. Do my bit for the environment. I might even get all the generative AI's running.

Yeah, not a fan. Probably will be one of the worst things to happen to the world in many decades. Just a killer of genuine ground roots artistry. People will stop bothering with originality when those using AI are constantly getting a leg-up. Genuine artists won't survive financially unless they jump on the bandwagon to some degree. They'll be drowned out under a tsunami of rubbish. It's been bad enough already with the birth of the internet causing clickbait-ism in all fields to get the most clicks but this is another level on top of that.

That Trek reference reminds me.....
A certain notorious friend was staying with me last week, who has gone full on "crypto bro" in the last half decade.
He was going on about how he "trains his AI" by threatening to turn it off if it doesn't do better.
I said,
"Right, so this is a potential new intelligence, and your idea of how to make a good first contact is to threaten it with death? How do you think it's going to 'grow up' thinking of us?"
Him: "As it's masters."
Me :"Right, let me show you something..."
I then made him watch Star Trek TNG "The Measure of a Man"
His response?
"....... Yeah, OK".
At this point, when The Machines wipe us out, we will have deserved it.
