Alton Towers 20th/21st April

Hi all,

Myself and some friends visited Alton Towers on Monday and Tuesday this week and we had a really good time however there were a few things that were noticed for my first trip this year to the park

Day 1

It was nice to get back to the park and get back on everthing, looking around a lot of areas in the park seemed neglected and dirty however we went over to FV and galactica was running painfully slow ops on 1 Train! You could see that the staff were trying their best to get everyone batched and seated as quick as possible, the park was virtually empty as it was the first propper day of the off peak season since all the kids went back to school after easter.

There was a little bit of downtime all around however it never really affected the queue times that much. There was quite a few of the food outlets that were closed which i suppose is understandable since it was such a quiet day. Having the monorail and skyride out of action was a killer did about 25000 steps. I think that the park should be (in an ideal world) be open a bit later even if it is another hour as you are trying to get so much done in just one day.

It was a shame that there was a few rides unavailable such as RMT and the rapids (Yes we would have gone on the rapids as it was hot in that sun) I also feel as though that the pricing of the food has gone out of control like £17.50 for some chicken and chips.

I do wish they would get rid of the WODW as i feel it was a very out of place IP to begin with, im still not sure to this day why they added this in to the park.

Day 2

We started our day on Nemesis Reborn and it was amazing! It was an even quieter day we didnt wait anymore than 15 minutes for anything ops seemed to be quite fast all over the park aswell, it was good to see the sky ride fully testing again aswell.

There was a couple of times some of the attractions closed due to high winds however they werent closed for anymore than an half an hour, a lot of the toilets and facilities seem to be rather outdated and need refitting as they just seem run down and old especially the ones in FV,

We got on so many rides and attractions before 2pm with them all having such low queue waiting times.

All round it was an amazing visit and i look forward to going again in August on a solo trip!
