One does have to wonder; do they not use spellcheck software?
Or even ChatGPT or Gemini, in fact? One of the generative AI clients could probably remove spelling mistakes in one simple prompt!
Some of the mistakes made here would probably be picked up by a spellchecker very easily… maybe not “Pirate’s Blunder”, admittedly, as blunder is a legitimate word, but some of the ones in the email I received on Thursday would definitely have been picked up by a spellchecker, I feel.

But blunder is correct spelling. One does have to wonder; do they not use spellcheck?

Just wrong.
Sort of.

I did edit the post to address that (you caught me mid-edit, I think!), but if they told ChatGPT or similar that the restaurant was called Pirate’s Plunder, then surely it would still pick up on the error? But blunder is correct spelling.

I was also talking more generally rather than about that specific one; some of these typos Alton are churning out would definitely be picked up by simple spellchecker software, I feel.

Or just, you know, proof read things before publishing/sending off to print? They clearly don't, or at least not very well, and haven't for years! One does have to wonder; do they not use spellcheck software?

It wouldn't surprise me if these are typed up on a mobile phone, with autocorrect turned on, before someone just clicks send without reading it first. To say it's amateur is being very polite

Actually wondering if this isn't a mistake - as one of the tracks the park have released for the event is called Blunder or Bust:
From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9J6imFaC30
For them it is probably a case of Blunder THEN Bust however...

The sign on the front of the van under the counter says "Pirate's Plunder", so one of them is.

Blunder can also mean "to move in an awkward way", eg "I could hear him blundering around in the darkness" as taken from the Cambridge Dictionary website

I'm not sure that spellcheckers would necessarily help in a lot of these situations because the text is housed in graphics. One does have to wonder; do they not use spellcheck software?
Are spell checkers now standard in graphics software? Genuine question, my version of Photoshop is a few year's old now, so not sure if it's now more commonplace than it used to be.
Equally, a spell check would only have picked up the missing apostrophe, 'Blunder' is as correct as 'Plunder' from a Spelling and Grammar POV.

Another day, another new sign, another spelling mistake.

Ignoring the space in the #, committed is missing a T, interesting it’s spelt correct on all the other signs they’re done.

The irony that it's on a sign that is supposed to be showing their commitment to said excellence is not lost on me
