Area retheme ideas

This is a thread where you can post which area could be rethemed in the future and have a say about your own ideas!

I'll say my ideas:
Adventure Land expansion into CBeebies Land's entrance, Octonauts replaced
with new play equipment

Rethemed World of David Walliams with the removal of everything except Carousel and Bouncy Bottom Burp
Merlin Magic Making's workshop (originally Nick: Outta Control) replaced with climbing center and cafe
Gangsta Granny the Ride replaced with a play area and tearoom
Bouncy Bottom Burp moved next to the theater
Education Center for Driving School replaced by an arcade
4D Cinema reverted back to a theater
Site of Driving School replaced with a rethemed Postman Pat ride and rethemed Gallopers
Dungeons demolished and replaced by a street similar to Talbot Street (Before you ask, the remaining wall of Doom and Sons would be demolished)
This is only Stage 1of my ideas, expect Stage 2 in a few days or so.

Area to be repurposed: David Walliams

My Replacement: A Fairground / Circus themed area but with a sinister twist called 'UNfair Ground' or something along those lines.

I think the theming possibilities are pretty much endless and the park already have props and scenery from the Toxic Junkyard Scarefest attraction they could repurpose if funding was tight.

Like the idea but more sinister themes….
Nah

Bring back The Land Of Make Believe

Considering both Ents Construction and Merlin Magic Making no longer exist within the park, they should just demolish all the facilities opposite the Gangsta Granny area and build an enclosed/indoor area to compliment Project Horizon and GG. It would add a lot to the park and help them counter adverse weather, as well as offering something to counter the upcoming Universal park.

But Merlin won’t have the money for that…

Steampunk / Industrial would be my other choice. I just prefer darker themes.

Whatever they do I hope it's better than what's there now though. Don't think the brand / IP was ever strong enough for a full area. A single ride in a theme park somewhere I can sort of understand possibly.

Definitely agree with the comments that walliams/cuckoo area is the major area that requires work. It’s still the same area from years ago and now is a mismatch of themes and just doesn’t work.
My idea would be to turn it into a home grown family area “adventures of Sir Algenon”
Based around the great explorer the area would spread from driving school, include horizon & bring the boat ride back into the area.
The street theming would go and each attraction would be based around his adventures even tying in the Alton towers hotel rooms.
Gangsta granny - stay as a dark ride that becomes a short introduction into Sir algenon, How he’s created “time portals” for you to relive some of his greatest adventures, you can step into the worlds he visited and maybe even join him on his latest voyage!
In the centre of the area would be a large play structure of algenons flying machine and a meet and greet area.
Driving school would go in replacement of a kids/family coaster this would be the snorlix coaster.
Other attractions would be..
- “quest for the dodo” a heavily themed jungle adventure boat ride indoors with fantastic visuals and animatronics as you join algenon on his quest to find the Dodo which ends with you finding Darwin the Dodo.
- flying theatre takes place of the 4D cinema, Algenons Great Flying Machine your about to board algenons great flying machine as he takes you on a whistle stop tour of his many great adventures, where will you head to next?
- A complete new building would go in place of Nickoldeon & education area, this would be “Himalayan adventure” a jeep tracked dark ride attraction as you search for the illusive Yeti, will you finally come face to face with him? Here you’d meet Erik the Yeti
Finally I’d bring horizon into the area as the latest “moon voyage” this will be the big coaster for the area still hitting the family but more 1.2m. A thrilling dark launch coaster with show scenes and effects. A thrilling adventure where you’ll end up meeting Rusty the Robot.
Of course it would be built in stages but would add so much life to the area, be somewhere open to all ages, a fun, whimsical area that best of all belongs to Alton towers, you’d also be able to tie more room upgrades to the hotel with the adventures in the land.

Those are some nice interesting ideas.
Anyway: Plan 2
Dark Forest rethemed to Thunder Rock Rally, TH13TEEN removed as part of development
Dodgems ride on site of Ug Swinger and Roller Disco
Another rollercoaster next to Rita that will at least reuse the TH13TEEN queue
Reopening of the arcade
Stage in the central part of area

I'll say this and die on the hill with this idea but...TWODW into the lost Port Discovery concept with Gangster Granny rethemed into an HG Wells Time Machine theme, Project Horizon being the return of Black Hole in a steampunk form as what was teased in the original, Dungeons building rethemed into Around the world in 80 days as before and maybe the theatre turned into a 4D War of the Worlds experience and maybe gutting out the Nickelodeon building into a simulator Journey to the Centre of the Earth ride.

Maybe the space left by MMM going could see the area knocked through into maybe a larger dark ride but who knows.

Now for X-Sector to plush up the theme into X-Sector 2098 which is now a more Blade Runner neon look being very much futuristic with it having a sleaker look with a repaired Oblivion station that has it's onride photo and gift shop built by the exit with orange supports and a dark ride section for the section beyond the hole expanding more on the story, Smiler would have yellow supports and it's ugly station building would be covered by large LED screens given off a 1984 Big Brother feel which helps create more energy to the area and improve the look over all.

An Intamin Double Swing Hammer for the Submission site and a new look Enterprise for the other site too and finally for the X-Cite building being gutted into a maze attraction themed to the area.

And finally for Dark Forest...literally anything starting off with getting rid of Rita and going with a more enchanted and lighter theme with Thirteen being the dark outliner of the area with it now getting not only a themed fix up but also an actual story.

So yeah, either of those areas getting that and I'll be happy.

I don’t see any reason why TwoDW, Dark Forest, and Horizon can’t all be linked together. To make this area of the park all link to the lore of the Towers (it’s literally half of the parks name?) would give them an overarching theme, and then each area could explore different aspects. Magic, Science fiction, and Curses could all give different avenues to explore based on the target ages

I really like this concept!

It is bizarre that Hex isn’t in the same area as Th13teen, despite having a very similar theme!

The whole area would be well-suited to a “towers ruins” theme. It’s not really the main kids area any more since CBB’s land took hold, and there’s still family-friendly elements you could easily tie-in.

Heck wouldn’t it be great to have a new pathway around the drop area/first helix of Th13teen better tying the areas together and providing a great vantage point to take photos and watch the ride? Ease crowd-flow a bit too!
