B&M Floorless coaster for the UK

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up on here already, but the UK is supposedly going to be home to a new B&M Floorless coaster in the next few years. This was all over twitter and Facebook the other day.

Whilst there is no official news, the source appears to be well respected within the community (Marcus Gaines).

And just throw some spice into the mix, it isn't going to be at a Merlin park or Drayton Manor (apparently).

If it's not Drayton or a Merlin park (and it won't be Blackpool due to space), where will it go? I can't see it being LWV or Oakwood as they can't afford one, Paultons due to their target audience, and Mingo as they're idiots.

Hmm, not seen anything myself but unless it turns out to be Thorpe I find this very hard to believe. It clearly wouldn't be Blackpool as they are just about to get a massive Mack and I cannot see any of the smaller parks (Flamingo Land et al) being able to afford a B&M.

:)

It's a rumour of such vagueness it's entirely meaningless, and it couldn't possibly be a done deal without anyone noticing because of our planning system in the UK. But if one were on the way with those restrictions (as Drayton is the obvious answer) I'd say Paultons; it may not be their current target audience, but they've shown with previous investments they do want to provide some thrills, and a big signature quality coaster is really the only thing missing from their lineup to put them in the fully fledged 'something for everyone' theme park bracket. It would make them one of about three in the country to have that sort of offering and increase their pulling power into a whole new audience. If they want to grow it's really the only way to go, as they are already the default choice for pretty much every young family within a reasonable travelling time, so more kids stuff is likely to only attract people who were probably going to visit anyway.

They also have all the cash as their well deserved reward for being so good at everything. The only issue geing 'what would the neighbours say?', but that's a problem for basically every park in the UK other than Thorpe.

Really hope it isn't for Tayto Park. After the owner talking about how he would like a RMC or Mack Mega I'd be rather disappointed if it ended up a B&M.

What??? The UK Theme Park industry isn't big enough outside Merlin and Blackpool are about to get a Mack Mega. I highly doubt this rumour being true, does anyone know of a B&M coaster at an existing Paramount Park?

There are no existing Paramount Parks (not unless you meant the old ones that are now owned by Cedar Fair).

And there never will be a paramount park or an imminent flooorless B&M in the UK. There isn't anyone in this country with a feasable business case to build either.

London Paramount would be a good shout if it was to happen, however that is a long way off even happening so it would seemingly be too early for such a rumour to come out. I suppose Tayto Park is a possibility if someone got their Geography a little bit wrong. I can't see Paultons Park getting a B&M coaster for a lot of reasons; there's no need for them to change their target market and I don't think they could even afford one.

I still find this rumour very unlikely but in terms of cost, Dæmonen cost roughly €10 million ($12 million) back in 2004 whereas Medusa (a larger model) cost $15 million in 2000. I reckon even a smaller Floorless would cost at least £10-11 million today. I really can't think of a UK park outside of Merlin and Blackpool that would be in a position to make such an investment.

:)

Why wouldn't Flamingo Land be able to afford this? They're spending money on a mini-mingo and also they spent over £10million on their last investment

At a push Flamingo Land probably could afford a smaller model. I'd love them to get a B&M floorless coaster but I just can't see it happening. I would enjoy being proven wrong with this though!

:)

I managed to find this regarding the B&M floorless. Definitely not mistaken for a park outside the UK then, and also it will not be in 2018. It says it won't be DM but nothing is said not being a Merlin Park.
