B&M Floorless coaster for the UK

When I first saw this, I mentioned about a conversion for Shockwave... it makes sense with the current trend of stand ups being converted to Floorless. But I just can't see Drayton removing that feature.

What investment of Mingo's was £10m? Unless I've missed something, Hero cost £4m. Whilst on one hand Mingo would make sense, and go back and 8 years and I would agree. But they're too busy buying out Zamperla's entire catalogue to ever worry about the most expensive manufacturer.

Paultons is a good shout really. And maybe Fantasy Island? That place now has owners that mean serious business, and they have fairly relaxed planning restrictions.

Oh, and Tayto themselves confirmed that their next coaster is going to be a Hybrid with inversions - so a RMC then!

Hero was only a £2million investment out of £6million spent that year on a whole new area.

The new mini-mingoland they are looking at purchasing is £30million, so they do have the cash to purchase a B&M if they wanted to.

Just going back to people mentioning Shockwave getting converted to a floorless. Although it's not a terrible idea, I don't think it's really worth it considering to the short layout of the ride would make it a bit dull. Also the stand up is a big marketing pull for Drayton so I can't see them doing it on that basis alone.

Shockingly (pun may or may not be intended...) they're more likely to get a brand new one in my opinion.

But where has this information ACTUALLY come from?

Someone on Twitter who claims that their source is right 90% of the time. I'm still sceptical myself, Thorpe are the only park I can really see getting one and even then it's not really what they need.

:)

Well I don't live too far from British Salt in Middlewich, should anyone else require a pinch of salt to take this with?

His name is Marcus Gaines. Look him up. Naturally you should take everything like this with a pinch of salt, as I did, but people who I respect with in the community have said that this guy is legit.

One thing that no one has mentioned, is the possibility of this being a relocation, that would be a lot more affordable.

And apparently Mingo are having actual serious thoughts of installing a woodie within the next few years, so we should probably count them out.

It's ridiculous that so many of the large parks are you be counted out, but it sort of makes this a bit fun.

Fantasy Island: massive new owners who mean business. Good possibility.

Adventure Island: independently owned but very successful. Possible.

Pleasurewood Hills: owned by a large chain, so any things possible really. Possible

Paultons Park: independent again, but incredibly successful. Extremely possible.

Lightwater Valley: no.

Paulton's is a family park, so i'd count them out.

I've been around the forums and other forums long enough to take all 'source rumours' with a huge pinch of salt. I've believed far too many over the years that I now demand foundations before I believe it.

With regards too..

Mingo - That woodie has been speculated about for as long as I can remember, I'm not going to rule it out because eventually Towers caved and took the plunge.

Fantasy Island - Where do they put a B&M Floorless? They already have two major coasters that barely fit.

Adventure Island - Again, where do they put a B&M floorless?

Pleasurewood Hills - Possible, maybe, but probable? I don't think so.

Paultons Park - A family driven park isn't going to install a B&M floorless as their first high thrill coaster, it'd be like Gullivers World installing Kingda Ka.

Lightwater Valley - I agree, I think that'll be the next park we sadly lose :(

If it is true you can count out the smaller parks such as Pleasurewood hills, light water and Oakwood regardless of the size of their owner. They struggle to get any kind of investment each season and when they do it's normally a lot less than £1m, they are not suddenly going to get £12-£15m for one ride, the parks attendance and any gains from adding the coaster wouldn't sustain that type of investment.

About two years ago their were rumours of plans to add a theme park section to Longleat, if that did ever happen I wouldn't have expected them to get a B&M but you never know.

I'm not sure, as it's owned by a company (Heritage GB) that owns a few visitor attractions. we'll have to wait and see. personally, i hope that none of the remaining small UK parks close down.

All this talk but no mention of M and D's, Can't rule them out!
We can almost certainly rule them out. they just had a huge accident so there are large safety concerns and they will certainly get a hefty fine so I doubt they have the financials to invest that much.

Not to mention all there other coasters are pinfaris!!! never in a million years are they suddenly going to buy a b&m of all things.

All those pinfari's means they've been able to save up for years! They have had a lot of publicity recently (not good admittedly)strike whilst the irons hot, they have nothing left to lose. If not them what about Brighton Pier? ;)

It wouldn't be impossible for it to be Thorpe Park in 2019, but it would then make Colossus seem even worse! We haven't heard what Thorpe are doing for 2018, so they could be adding small for then (as AT get a coaster) then a big coaster in 2019 or even 2020.

Or of course Paramount Park, but that won't be until 2022 or something so seems a long way off for a rumour to start.

Apparently it's 100% not a Merlin park.

But even if it was, Thorpe already has 2 Floorless coasters, and we all know Merlin needs a massive selling point ;)
