Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

So they've taken out a new loan with Natwest there is also a second one with Lombard.
I know a few people weren't concerned with Pleasure beach finances as they said "theyre paying off their debt quickly" but jow theyre increasing that debt once again.
As long as their investment strategy is sound then things should be fine but if they've got things wrong things could start getting tight.
A risky strategy but I don't think they've got much choice because if they do nothing things will only get worse

These are just registration of charges. They do not necessarily have any bearing of the current debt levels of the park. You’ll note that the beneficiaries of said charges are institutions that the park currently has facilities with.

I would caution against drawing any conclusions at all from these filings.

The amount of money they must keep spending on all the upkeep, aswell as the extended periods of downtime that is causing I'm not surprised that it would at least be something they might consider. Would be a shame to lose it, but it does seem to be getting rougher as the years go by, even with all the work done to it to try and fix that.

Not sure how they can claim Margate as some sort of success given the amount of financial woes they've had, and they've apparently still not fixed the scenic after the track damage from last summer.

Hate the claims it's a heritage theme park, every major ride that's been put into the park since it was built was top of the range for its day. These clowns would've stopped them pulling down the scenic railway to build the big dipper, then tried to stop them from extending the ride.

The grand national has been my favourite ride at the park since I was a child, but if the costs every year to maintain the ride to no real benefits and continued complaints from visitors there's not much else for them to do but knock it down and build something new.

If they didn’t get two bit companies like KumbaK in to work on it then it probably wouldn’t have all the downtime.

I sincerely hope it doesn’t go but if they’re so hellbent on neglecting it in the way they have then it’s a matter of time before the thing falls apart of its own accord. So sad.

A concerning article has surfaced regarding the Grand National:

Thoughts?
If it is grade 2 they would have to get it de-listed first, which will probably be a pain as according to historical England you have to have new evidence to show that the building is not historically significant or architecturally important which given BPB history I doubt they could properly get.

there is also this, but not sure how applicable it is to people not in blackpool

They’ve got history in this. The Star was listed. They got planning permission to demolish it.

That said, they are definitely doing work on the ride - you can see it. Whether that means much, I’m not sure. It would be odd to spend money on the ride only to demolish it, but as we know there’s often not a great deal of point in attempting to apply logic to the park’s decisions.
