Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

Something interesting in a recent Theme Park Insanity Pleasure Beach Vlog there were 2 members of staff sweeping the floor of the River Caves area which could be something either the area is being prepped for repaint or about to have water back in

Don’t think this means anything at all. I saw staff brushing water away in the River Caves entrance last season too.

I think it only opened very briefly at the start of last season, so by the end of this one, it’ll have been closed for virtually 2 whole seasons. I miss it.

This and single train ops on Dipper have made this season disappointing

Well it's movement around the ride

I think refurbished Launch Pad has made that area of the park feel more alive again then it was a few years ago, Aviktas will bring new life into that walkway next to River Caves. The park has improved since last year particularly opening day but still has much room for improvement

I can't remember where I read it, I know "unsourced rumours" and all that, pretty sure one of the events there (not sure if it was a BPB Fan Club or a YEG one, I didn't attend either) included as a surprise bonus from the park a quick look inside River Caves and confirmed that work was taking place in there. But no photos or videos allowed so... no evidence.
I would expect it to re-open in 2026 partway through the season along with Aviktas.

Don't worry, they are improving the number of trains on Big Dipper in September... it will be, wait for it... none...

Ride Availability

Does anyone if VIBES event thingy happened last night. Had a peek at queue times but nothing showing.

UPDATE: For clarity, I've check my logs & the announcement for Big Dipper was Thu 28th Aug at some point.

Big Dipper shut in September for essential CBA !!

The park is an absolute shambles at the moment.

Going back to river caves , I really hope it reopens in 2026 but the park have not yet indicated that it will, which is not a good sign.

Knowing they can probably get away with another 12 months saving on staffing costs while they divert attention to Aviktas, plus how the park is currently being run, it would be a huge (but pleasant) surprise to me if river caves opens during the 2026 season.

I am still sticking with my prediction of Aviktas in 2026 and River Caves in 2027. But I really hope I am wrong.

Cheers BPB, absolute legends.... I've booked for the 27th Septermber (Twilight Thrills) and found out now that other people have just booked that there will be no Big Dipper.

Aint been since 2019 so was looking forward to it..... just means the other coasters are gonna take the hit with bigger queues.

Does anyone know if there is anything wrong or is thr CBA mentioned above.

Season Pass for £125 was tempting a friend of mine, but I mentioned that the dates haven't been released and things can change with opening hours daily. Think this has swayed his mind as his reply when I told him Dipper was closed was "That's not on" *can't put the proper reply now forum rules have changed but you get the drift.

I just feel a bit miffed that they push events and then pull rides. If they are genuinely down then yes I get it but CBA.

Sorry ranty post over

I was going to book for Twilight Thrills in September as well, not been to the park for a couple of years and the late night openings always have a good atmosphere with the Illuminations on at the same time. However no Big Dipper would have been a huge blow for me.

In the end I got a better offer and am off to Madrid to do Parque Warner instead. Definitely made the right call there.

BPB really need to get off their ... behinds ... and give us all a reason to actually want to go there anymore.

I too am visiting in September, and gutted to find Dipper closed since this is my first visit since 2023, and guess what… when I visited in 2023 Dipper was closed.

My prior visit to that was in 2021 when I decided, after many years not to renew my season pass because operations had got so poor.

I have so little faith in this park right now, and it’s genuinely quite sad since it’s a park I used to champion.

They’ve done this before, closing a woodie for a month as soon as Summer is over. It’s very annoying when some of us have been looking forward to going in September after the crowds have gone.

It’s been a poor season for Dipper fans. Single train all season, during school trip time when I went it was only open 12-4, disappointing when you can normally hammer it after the trips have gone mid afternoon. Last time I did an afternoon there, several rides closed at 4, an hour before the park shut. Now Dipper closes for a month for no apparent reason.

River Caves remains shut with no update from the park in some time. No Skyforce. No Dodgems. No sign of a ride replacing Grand Prix. I’ve had a season pass since 2016 and this has been an absolute wet fart of a season.

Like @shakey said the other day, visits have become more about the company, and having a day / night out than the actual rides. There’s very little to get excited about.

The most exciting thing this season has been the end of the day doner & chilli chicken mix with chips from Kebab Hut, eaten behind the curved sea wall with @rob666 and scaring off hungry seagulls with eagle impersonations

@rob666 I know dipper is as rough as a bag of spanners, just gutted it's gonna be a ride I can't get on in Sept.

BPB was my first park I remeber as a little one wayyyyyyyy back in the 80s so it does hold some great memories as I used to go yearly in the 00's.

Still i did book the "Swear Word" VIP Speedy Pass when I booked my ticket. So I'll still hopefully clatter a decent amount of rides despite Dipper being unavailable.

Don't normally do Fast Passes ever but I'd thought I'd give it a shot at least once.

Now there's the problem you see.
Tempt naughty person fate with booking the speedypass mate!
Have an extra beer in Crevettes to make up for the dipper across the way.
Us local season pass holders are spoiled by easy regular access to the place, but operations have simply got a little bit down, each year, every year, for a decade.
Good luck with your visit.
